But it certainly isn't because HT gave up on this license.

I don't think anyone has been speculating on any of those other points you've made. My only guess, based on experience in design and engineering, is that their plate is full with their on-going licenses, which by all accounts also sell through much faster and likely make them more money.

remember when The Phantom Menace was a month from opening? people were scrambling for everything and anything Star Wars related... the trick is to have the product ready. bust out the OT characters BEFORE the film! i am betting the PT and OT will get little attention come 2015... this is the time.

I agree...once "Disney's Star Wars" hits....we will see NOTHING from the original six films. It will be all mouse, all the time.

I don't know about most folks in here, but I'll be saving a lot of money when that day comes.

C'mon HT and SS....hit us with the OT and PT stuff NOW before it's too late....

I'm not quite so pessimistic in regards to the OT and Disney. They'll avoid the PT, for sure, but they can't be blind to how much money there is to be made from the OT. My guess is that there'll be a blend of OT/sequel merchandise (and I'd think the OT becomes more relevant with sequels than prequels -- especially with the inclusion of Ford, Hamill and Fisher), with the PT completely abandoned.

As they should be.

You guys can't make that assumption that PT will be ignored knowing full well at least according to Chan, the next figure is Anakin. Then after Han is Padme (which Chan said would be in 2015, fat chance)

Personally I'd be ok without any PT figures, though I'd buy obi wan, mace, yoda, AnKin, Padme, Qui Gon, Dooku, Maul and Palpatine. No one else though.

I don't mind Anakin as the second choice but not when they are putting them out so slowly. Which is why I'm counting on Enterbay to bless us with more nice little surprises like Han.

I'm hoping we get a Leia next.

Also me personally I'm not all doom and gloom. Obviously SW is a money maker, but the truth is too slow is too slow. There's going to come a time when 200 dollar dolls don't mean as much to me, I'd rather expand a collection when I care.

I have about 9 SW figures I deem hot toys worthy and only one is an actual HT figure and only three are humans (two Lukes and Han). I want more and one every three years is. It good enough when we are getting 20 iron mans a year.

Exactly that was another point I forgot to include was HT knows SW will sell at any and all times. Others not so much. They are striking while the Iron (Man) is hot.

Lol, that's virtually all of the main characters. :lol

Hahaha I know, I was trying to say I would still buy any of those if they were made though I'd be OK if none of them were made too.

But also trying to say that if HT made a Ploo Koon or something, or a gen Grevious I wouldn't be buying it. Not that it would happen.

But not that it would happen, of HT made an admiral Akbar or some secondary character from OT. I would buy it even though I'd never think about getting a SS version.

Never gonna happen unless they want to lose money. And seeing their release schedules, losing money is not high on their list of priorities. Also, releasing things to tie directly into movies is not how HT rolls - they're usually around a year or more late for everything - don't expect that to change.

Related to the other parts of the recent discussion, most of the Star Wars value is in the original 3 movies. Those with the disposable income (adults) care about the OT, not the abortion that were the prequels. Disney bought a franchise with existing value and they're already making money from it. They will not "forget" anything as their M.O. has always been about realizing continued income from historic properties.

Apparently the new SS Sixth Scale Vader is a collaboration with Hot Toy's.

Anything to back that up? Nothing on Sideshow's page - nothing written about it during interviews that we've read.

I wouldn't complain if the prequel figures were scrapped for oT, don't get me wrong, it's just I don't think that's happening. oMG has already claimed to have seen the Anakin figure.

The first ANH Vader and the storm trooper and a few others were all also in collaboration with Hot Toys. These were all done years ago.

Hot Toys is not making any robot or armor type figures on their own. They are sticking to humans. Which is a good thing because its the one thing sideshow can't do for ****.

Not sure if that statement is going to hold up, bro. Their latest offerings are looking really nice with tech advances to back it up. First the Obi, and now moving on to Luke and Han. I hope they surprise us.

I don't hold too much hope. IMO obi wan was leaps and bounds ahead of what they've done in the past but leaps and bounds behind hot toys.

The new hoth Han and Luke look promising but they always get silent surfer types to paint their heads however they can never even get remotely close to replicating their prototype paint jobs when it comes to production.

IMO they should just phone it in already. Or just arrange something like Medicom has with Enterbay. Use hot toys bodies and have them do the portraits.

They can pump stuff out like dew backs and probe droids and all that. No need for hot toys to do something like ig88. This allows the secondary Star Wars collection to fill itself out more rapidly. but enough is enouh with the poor attempts at humans.

.

So your arguement is they shouldnt sell pt figure because people like yourself thought
They were crap, well why are they making lone ranger figures then. It clearly wasnt a good movie...
Sure people can argue against me but I can also argue not everything about the pt is bad.

Lone Ranger, iron man mark 3212, tron, suckerpunch, blade 3, Noland from predators, the exlendables, the list goes on and on. Hot toys is no stranger to making a lot of pure garbage, me? PT figures would be a huge step up to all the aforementioned crap.

I really would strongly like an EP2 Padme, EP 3 Anakin and Obi Wan. Not at the expense of a proper HT Leia, obi Wan, Emperor, chewbacca or Han Solo, but I'd really like all three.

The problem with the prequel trilogy is that there are as many moments of brilliance as there is utter embarrassments, often in the same movie. That being said I have a certain affinity for them and certainly hold revenge of the Sith at least on equal par to ROTJ as a film.
