Edit: just saw some pics of the combination (belt unaltered) in the Hoth Luke thread, not sure I'm crazy about the match. Hoth belt looks a little bigger in scale (buckle, pouches, etc.), but still interested to see what your mods look like.
This may all be moot. I think I just landed the DX set at a good price. Now I'll have an extra pair of pants and underwear to sell off.

The clothes arrived so I thought I'd give a go at what I had planned. This is on the Pro 1.1 and it's way too big for the clothes. Luke feels like he's about to Hulk out and rip through the shirt. Almost broke one of the snaps. Boots, head, and belt are from the SS Hoth figure. Had no hands so I'm using Sand People hands.

I think the DX or the bag of sand I ordered from Australia arrives tomorrow so this will have to tide me over for 24 hours or so.

Went to repose this figure after a few months. I hardly touch this figure and the magnet in the holster comes off. Wish HT made the magnets stick stronger. Had a same issue with the stormtrooper. Come on HT sort it out.

^^I just got this figure. It was purportedly new. One of the lightsaber hooks had fallen off, one of the magnets had half disintegrated (not really but the shiny steel coating had all flaked off leaving a little coal-looking magnet). Both magnets in the heads came off after removing the hair pieces. And many of the pouches were open from the glue weakening.

Awesome figures though and most of these issues i had already read about so they weren't surprising. Gotta go back through the thread to see the best fixes for each issue.

Yeah one of back pouches was open when I got the figure. You would think HT would do a better job. The small details count. I use double sided tape to fix most of these issues.

Yes....$300.00. BBTS had them in stock for the longest time before they finally sold out. Aftermarket prices climbed, but I noticed them spike after Hot Toys revealed all their new Star Wars stuff.

Glue issues aside, idealized likeness aside...it's one hell of a set.

I see stuff for crazy prices on Ebay all the time, but I don't imagine they sell very frequently. If you're patient...you can find better deals although with the current Hot Toys Star Wars craze it may be much harder than before.

There've been hints that this figure may get a re-release. I would guess it would just be a standard single figure release. But maybe that'll bring the DX07 price back to normality. Maybe when we see some of the Empire figure reveals.

Thought that was just speculation by collectors? Although given Hot Toys' penchant for milking a license and the precedent for 2.0 versions, it's not totally implausible.

Thing about DX releases...they're very impressive and nicely packaged, but personally I don't even use stands much less all the accessories these things come packed with. But it's good to have options.

From what I remember it was a subtle suggestion from Jack B. not to spend the money on the DX.

Yeah, I just mainly wanted the clean sculpt. But nice to have both. Probably swap them out from time to time as I don't have too much display space currently. Checked out the weather vane but definitely don't have room for that thing.

So what's the verdict on this guy now that the dust has settled? I think I prefer this version to the new one coming out but the price for this is ridiculous

I believe the headsculpts have received mixed reviews, but I still wish I had this set.
