Hot Toys DX Bespin Luke Skywalker

Well thanks to Neb, I finally got myself a pretty cool looking Luke (at least until Jedi Luke comes along). And of course I had to get one of the lightup ANH lightsabers for it as well. The likeness looks pretty good to me for the most part, if a bit too idealized and square-jawed for Hamill.

I'd still like to weather the belt, outfit and boots a little bit, to more how he looked in the early Bespin scenes. I'm still not sure why HT didn't just make one slightly weathered Bespin Luke-- as he most often appears in the movie-- instead of one that's either super clean or completely trashed, but oh well.

Wow. How did you get the original forearm off of the clean Luke body?

It definitely took some trial and error, but ultimately I found all I needed to do was slide a small screwdriver into the gap and pry it off that way.

so is it a dif bod than the ANH ver? assumed it would be easy to switch out, plottin on saber arm for my bespin Luke as well..

Yeah the Bespin Luke uses an older body which doesn't have a sculpted on neck. But you can still detach the lower arms on both versions which is cool. The only thing I found is that the peg on the ANH lightsaber arm isn't quite as long as on the Bespin arm, so it doesn't stay in the slot quite as securely. But it still works well enough and you can always just wrap it with a bit of tape to hold it on better.

cool thks Dj, kinda tempted to get the ko led saber to avoid all that but been told they are crap compared to the HT saber arms.

Ideally I'd love to get one of those really nice Pixelpiper cathode lightsabers for it, but apparently he's a pretty hard guy to get a hold of.....

One day I'll reply, I promise! Seriously though, I've been completely ignoring FB's message requests for the past few weeks as I try to catch up on other stuff and especially this past week while I've been super sick.

I've now come up with a plan to mark replies so I can find them later - I was worried for a time that if I started replies there would be so many mixed with other messenger convos that I'd be totally lost (there's no tagging or folders in messenger)

Anyone know what hot toys body has good replacement hands for this figure? Thinking of selling my clean version with hands but I want atleast the basic hands for my BD.

I'm the opposite of you. I'm contemplating unloading my BD version with everything else from the set included except the clean figure, the lightsaber hilt, one blaster, three hands (two already currently on the clean figure) and the oval LS base.

Picked this set up over a year ago through SSF. Side note: the diecut card in the box says "uke Skywalker" - the "L" didn't get cut apparently! Anyway, i've been waiting for Yoda to do some pictures with him, but I got inspired to build just enough of a Bespin set to do a shot of the battle with Vader. I really wish PERS was a standard, it's fantastic for photopgraphy.

I think more like a PayPal "item not as described" case. Lol. No hot toys in the name or description. Hope it pans out for the buyer.
Magic 8-ball points to.....not likely. that would be some haul though.

Well that's certainly the shipper box from the set; hopefully that's not unfortunately the only actual thing from the set they end up receiving.

It can realistically be a mistake by a newbie seller thinking he(she?) is selling the Sideshow version since it even says Sideshow on the box if I remember correctly. I read every day posts from people (some on this very forum) that seem to believe that it's Sideshow manufacturing all those Hot Toys..
