Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Got mine today, and it's plain and simple awesome. Couple of issues though:

1) BD torso has a small black stain that appears to be from the belt. It really is small, very small. But it's a stain nevertheless.

2) Here I was saying I didn't care too much if the box was dinged in transit. I didn't request a pack-out, which would've cost an extra 50 bucks. The package arrived without a single dint in it anyway. But there is a tear running up the outside cover seam, and a small one on the other seam. If it weren't for these, the box would be absolutely mint, so where I was initially not bothered by a few dings, now I'm a bit bummed about the tears. This is my first DX and I was really unprepared for how awesome the packaging really is.

How many of you would give a toss about a small black stain and a couple of tears in a box where the rest of the package is absolutely perfect?

Update: I've just given myself a refresher on the last dozen or so pages, and am reminded of examples of scratched mirrors, seams not perfect, crushed Ex box... I've decided I don't give a toss about about the stain or tears. Until one of you buggers tries to tell me otherwise :lol

Thanks mate, it sure is worth it. My girlfriend, who tolerates rather than encourages my habit, looked at the shipper and asked, "why do you need another Bruce Lee?". Then I started unboxing it and she was actually telling me I should collect more DX figures. I don't want to disappoint her, so this is exactly what I'm going to do :)

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

The box on mine has few tears, sounds like the same kinda deal. The corners are held together with very thin paper so they bend, they tear pretty easy too. :lol Figure boxes are nice for about two minutes for me, then it's all about what's in them. I appreciate the design & effort involved, but I don't lose any sleep over a few rubs & dings.

The only thing I was a bit disappointed over was the ex body, had the silica gel pack stuck to his back causing a few small stains & dents in the rubber. Looks like a wicked bruise from being whipped with a chain. Guess I got two BD bodies. :lol

Those kind of faults on the box i can live with. My BD body seems like it wasn't sealed properly. Sent a request to Sideshow, now waiting for a response. This figure still kicks ass.

Mine arrived last Monday and I won't be able to get it until this weekend. This is torture!! Why couldn't sideshow just ship to my new address.:gah:

You talking about the seam in the rubber on the right hand side? It looks like that's just the way the body is constructed, the left is a mold seam & the right is joined with glue after it's wrapped around the TT.

Show us some pics if you can, but I think it would be the same for everyone.

Was i the only one that reported this?..only to figure out it was just a sheet of protective plastic that had some bunches in it giving off the illusion of it being scratched, i just peeled it off and its perfect.

congrats on the figure.
Bruce was pretty dirty in that last scene...the stain just adds to the realism :)

I wouldn't be that bummed. You rolled the dice on not paying Sideshow's extra absurd fee and got away with it pretty unscathed :hi5:

I would if I knew how to upload pictures. I can email them to you to show you what i'm talking about if you want to see. I just wanted a second opinion. The seal is bad and also the join at the armpit don't line up so one part if the torso is raised. Hard to describe without photos.

The box will eventually tear with repeated openings for those whose hasn't already. Unfortunately it's just part of the design and pretty unavoidable with the way it was constructed. I wouldn't worry about it.
