I don't plan on getting this figure at all, but I frequent this board quite often with hopes of seeing this "new" sculpt.
I have to say guys, I don't think it's gonna happen. Something would have been released by now. Especially since they are already talking about a release date that is soon to come.
I do hope I'm wrong, and I do hope everybody gets what they want in the long run, but I get the sinking feeling that Hot Toys is just gonna milk this situation so they can make another version that will sucker everybody to go buy it. Kind of like what they did with the first joker. Although somewhat understandable because they didn't have clear pics of Ledgers face. They also pulled it with the Iron Man MK. III and MK. II.
I'm just sick of all the milking, especially since not that many people have expendable money like that.

I could be wrong but i thought this license was obtained through Sideshow and because of that, Sideshow has first dibs on this figure as part of the agreement.If that's the case, then i don't think Hong Kong will have this first but i could be wrong.I'm coming in real late to this party so SORRY if this was already discussed!^_^

But they never used the DX body in the proto pics. Everyone knew at the time they just used the existing TDK Batman body with the new head?
They wanted to show off the entire set before the DX body was ready.
So not really in the same category?
