I am sold as the overall presentation. I never had intention of displaying Indy without a hat and OMG pics proved (to me) this can display well.

The figure will be in a detolf 4 - 6 ft from furniture therefore, the overall presentation will not be tarnished. The manscara nor missed sculpt will not be an issue at that range. I stand two inches from the figure or take pictures magnifying the sculpt 10x, I may be reminded of inaccuracies.
If I bought purely on absolute likeness, I wouldn't own Wolverine or Mark II - VI and other figures who just look badass on my shelves. Just sayin.

That's one of the best posts I've read in a while...it reminds me that this is supposed to be fun...and while these collectibles are expensive, they are glorified man-dolls and no one is forcing anyone to buy them. Is the sculpt perfect? Absolutely not. Is it good enough to display on my shelf? That's up to me. I just think its cool that we have such incredible sculpts of actors these days that we can afford to be picky and argue over every detail of every figure that comes out. Wasn't always that way...you used to buy a Han Solo figure that looked like Bruce Jenner and you liked it...how far we've come...again..........man-dolls. Everybody needs to take it down a notch. :)

Luke is a great sculpt much like Indy is, but in both cases I fail to see the actor's proper likeness.

Luke is idealized even beyond his 'glam' pre-accident look. And Indy, well, I'm not sure what reference they were looking at from the nose down.

Small Studios manip is still the best example of how this sculpt might be fixed for an excellent Ford/Jones circa 1981.

I still want this...

Painful, very painful... :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

I find this odd if I am honest. If it works for you then great but the whole ''well when I look at it from a really long way away it looks great'' viewpoint is really strange to me. I absolutely love to get up close and marvel at something so awesome in its entire presentation :dunno

I tried this approach with the V1 Joker... it was up on a shelf that you never could get really close to.

But still looked like crap and was a figure I did not enjoy owning until I was able to swap out the head with the BR figure that came out later.

Alright, I know its ToD and not Raiders, but still... his jaw gets thicker as he ages so this should be advantageous to the HT one...

I lightened the OMG pic so we can see what we really got here.

I really am stunned by fellow collectors who say they can't see ford in the sculpt, not even in OMG's incredible pictures. Get a grip guys, this is a ____ing toy. Yes, it's an expensive one but it just seems to me that some of you would kick off about the sculpt even if they shrunk Harrison ford, cloned him and then shipped him out in the box. I mean, by way of comparison, look at the effort from cinemaquette. That thing went (and still goes) for $2000 and it looks ____ compared to this. I'm delighted with the look of this figure. Those of you that maintain that the sideshow representation is a better effort, well, I mean there really is no hope....
:goodpost:
Absolutely! I am not going to rant tonight as i am only half way down my bottle of Cotes de Rhone instead of at the end, as I was last night, lol! :slap:monkey4
But for all those who said that I was against alternative opinions, I am not. I just disagree with the excessive vitriol. I think this figure doesn't look too bad in photos and if all my other hot toys are anything to go by then it will be a million times better in hand than the photos show! :)pray:).
The sideshow Han Solos on my shelves are crap by comparison and I love sideshow. Ford is an enigma when it comes to sculpts and I think this is as good as we'll get! So guys I'm sorry to appear a sad yay-sayer, but I am happy my $200 has been spent on this instead of yet another posh dinner and bottle of wine.
I do respect all of your opinions...OK? :peace
Oh ____, this is my second bottle tonight:panic::horror:chug

This sculpt kind of reminds me of the Legolas figure... you could see what they were going for; but somehow it got distorted.

Now Legolas was definitely worse, but kind of the same deal.

I enjoy marveling at my man dolls from time to time as well. I even pose them on occasion but ultimately they serve as a decorative piece to my media room. They look good on the shelf and I am happy.

Do you own Wolverine, Mark II - VI or SS products? Wolverine sculpt looks nothing like Jackman. Every Mark is out of scale and human SS look like crap (IMO). If you can marvel at those figures in wide eyed enjoyment how can you not this? It is no better or no worse?

Yes, that's actually a good comparison. I really think when all is said and done its a simple fix...slim down the jaw line.

Again, someone post that Small_studios manip...that's really what somehere here should use as a guide when they "fixed" their Indy sculpt.

Where is Darren Carnall when you need him?

:lol merged threads had me wading through 50 pages of catch-up. Very happy to see OMG's pics. Like most people I see Ford in the sculpt, but not enough to see me spending $235 + shipping (ie $280+) on the figure. I'm happy with my decision to cancel. Congrats to all the peeps who are happy with it, it's well time for the the detractors to bugger off and leave this thread to the fans I think :wave
