Have InArts said they are doing an 89 Batman ? I think yes or ??

They’ll make HT lift their game at minimum.
No. They’ve said that movies before the 2000s aren’t very popular in China if I remember correctly; so they see Reeve and 89 Bats as tough sells since their licensing is stuck as China only, regardless of us outside of China who are also buying these figures. At least that’s how I remember it but I welcome the correction. Don’t want to be spreading false info.

I always accept movies are comic adaptions, they always change things up by not really knowing or caring about characterization. I read comics for that
Basically this. I can critique them plenty, but the question is whether the adaptation stands in its own. The Guardians of the Galaxy crew were nothing like the movie version, but both work. Tony Stark in the comics kinda sucks most of the time. Batman has so many iterations (personally, I still grumble no movie has really done the Bat-family justice). Etc.

But does Keaton Batman work for his movie? Yeah. Bale for his? Yeah. Affleck for his? Yeah. They may not work for a different adaptation, but they’re designed for a specific universe of films.

Batman killed in his earlier appearances and the 89 movie was merely following those earlier depictions. It's easy to forget now but movie was produced during a time where the only image of Batman in the mainstream consciousness was Adam West hence it's reasonable understandable why they were doing their hardest to get away from that as much as possible.

As for which director actually reads Batman books and understands the character, both Tim Burton and Zack Snyder have admitted to not being massive fans with Burton saying the panels confuses him while Snyder admitting to only gravitating towards the surface-level grit of 300, Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns without really comprehending the underlying subtexts of those books.

Indeed, and Batman was also willing to kill in the comics contemporaneous to the time as well, including multiple instances in the late 80s. Vigilantism and fatal justice were an ongoing theme in Starlin's "Batman" run, prior to Burton's movie.

Is there any reason to think they would re-release the figure? They showed off the prototype.
It's possible but there's no guarantee, there's a lot of misinformation on the FB groups but showing off the figure at a con doesn't mean anything when it comes to Hot Toys.

Maybe they just put of the storage old DX09 to show the batcave dio and cathedral base at cons.
Or they will do a straight reissue iwith 0 improvement like the begins but it’s not a drama because the stock figure was already great.
Impossible to say with HT…

I might be wrong but they are probably waiting near the Flash movie to finally announce the "reissue" of this guy
