Yeah, minimalism. That's exactly what this is though. For this figure, I think it works. I like the pointillism and pop art look of it. I could see them doing this type of illustration to showcase the different Nicholson Joker versions if they're planning more.

I think it's better than most of their DX boxes. Certainly better than the silver/gunmetal monochromatic boxes they had before.

I bet you convince yourself into buying this.

I don't think I will with this purchase but as a collector 100% guilty (do this a lot with Blu ray purchases). Right now I am hovering around convincing myself with Barney Ross 2.0 :wink1:

Love the graphic pop art approach, just don't fancy this box much. But I do agree it's great to see them try new things. The embossed flower and bloody ink/pen on the inside are great.
Outside reminds me of a chefs uniform or something. Anyway it's all pretty subjective, and I think we are all agreed the figure inside the box looks pretty fantastic.
:yess:

I can't think of a better box design for this figure.
I can, but I'm not sharing.

If this had different options, I'd buy multiples. I did that with the DX 08 for his trench coat and non-trench coat looks and the DX 11 for regular and interrogation. I'll do the same for the DX 13.

But there's nothing here that warrants other looks or display options. Now if it were a Mob/Museum version, then yeah, I'd buy way more than just one. This guy here is a one and done.

After feeling guilty about ordering this last night I started looking at my collection for other stuff to add for sale. I'm thinking of selling all or some of my Terminator 4 figures. This would represent another shift in my collecting ideology - previously I was counting myself a Terminator completist. Now I just don't know. If I'm going to be a Burton Batman completist that's me adding stuff. I'm also looking at that new Thor figure and am tempted to build a complete Avengers set. I don't want to keep adding stuff without compensating somehow.

Come to think of it, I never bought any Salvation figures. I remember being tempted with Bale Connor and the that Endo, but said **** it and focused on T1 and T2.

That's what I'm thinking. Focus on only the classics, the films of my childhood. T4 is not classic nor was it of my childhood. On the other hand I loved the T-600s, so I might keep them and maybe one John Connor. Sell everything else. Problem is that's keeping a tie to 'new Terminator films'. A complete purge would help me more to stick to just T1 and T2. :gah:

Great portrait shot.

I'll need it in hand to know for sure, but, this looks to have the best PERS eyes on a DX figure yet. Something about those upper eye lids that really pull it off.

This is such a nice figure - ****!!! :gah: :lol

I want to be a HT Burton completist too.. but that's not gonna happen realistically. I had the idea at one point to do a 'Batman / Joker through the ages' Detolf; West/Romero - Keaton/DX14 - DX Begins-man/BRJ - with their respective Hot Wheels 1:18 scale cars on the bottom stacked on a clear tiered display stand thing. All three Jokers looking completely different, with Romero being the classic one (if HT make him).

Now - I'm just sticking to the budget. I've got SIX potential HT purchases in the next couple years - all either released, coming, or announced. Of course I have my HT wishlist, but that's not a budget consideration right now obviously..

All I want to know - is this figure legitimate?

It is legitimate. I saw it. I was there. I saw it all. He reached up with his dead hand and signed it in his own blood, and he did it, with this pen.
