They gave the Arkham Joker prototype to Snake as a gift because he's a nice goy.

Ideally, I'd like to see them put it up for PO when Batman starts shipping. Realistically, though, who knows what the **** Howard is thinking, half the time.

The situation with Arkham is completely ****ed. They teased more of the Joker than they did of Batman. At the time of those damn teasers in 2013, Joker seemed further along than Batman in development. He had his clothes, his shoes, hands and even a fully sculpted head. Only thing missing was a paint job and accessories, pretty much the exact opposite of Batman. Then nothing for the longest time. Not a peep about either of them. Then BAM, Batman at the end of the summer and no Joker in sight. Why not plan them at the same time ala DX01/DX02, DX09/DX08 or DX11/DX12?

Judging by this,

I'd say Batman won't even ship to the states until June/July at the earliest, well past the release of Arkham Knight. Then if Joker turns up at SDCC, you're looking at a year gap between Batman and Joker! Talk about a missed opportunity, maaaaan. It's like why'd you even bother teasing the Joker for 2013 guys?

Hot Toys have made cool two-packs and value packs for years. They've had complimentary characters get coinciding releases with one another. I just don't get it. Unless WB was like, "yo guys, you can't show the Joker from that three year old game cuz the big reveal is that he's Arkham Knight!!!", I don't see how they dropped the ball on this so badly.

Again, HT's focus in on the Avengers and Iron Man and Capt. America. DC is not a priority and we are not going to see many releases. But again, with their priority on Marvel, I don't want them releasing a lot of DC and getting mediocre products.

Yeah, but when can that Joker ever get a chance to be a priority for them? I certainly would hope that they put forth the same effort on every figure they produce, but maybe you're onto something. Their Ichabod Crane certainly seemed like an after thought to the fans interested for something that was in development for over three years.

It does beg the question of when though. When Joker was teased two years ago, Iron Man 3 was the focus and priority. Last year even more Iron Man 3, Cap II: Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy were a priority for them. They managed to pump out an Arkham Batman (which may or may not be half assed), but now it's full blown Avengers AOU hype. That's their priority, not even counting Ant-Man or the other Disney properties. There's no doubt Civil War will be huge next year since it's literally Hot Toys' bread and butter facing off against each other.

Considering Marvel's line up, if these old lines are being saved for a later date since they're not priorities, when do these older lines get a chance if not 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016? Every year is practically booked.

As a general rule of thumb, the bigger a company gets, the more risk-averse it becomes. Cranking out Marvel/Disney stuff is...

...for Howard and HT.

>tfw when you'll never see a Hot Toys 1/6 T2 John Connor to go along with your Arnies

:(

I wonder how I'd react in an alternate reality where, for three months straight, Hot Toys released Kyle Reese, Returns Batman, young John Connor, the Penguin, Alien Ripley, blue Robocop 2 Robo, Endoskeleton, Catwoman, Sarah Connor, Robo Caine, Doc Brown, Arnold Terminator 2.0 (from either T1 or T2), Clarence Bodicker, Aliens Ripley, Corporal Hicks, Museum/Mob Joker Nicholson, Private Hudson, Batman '89 2.0 w/ vault, in that order, weekly.

I certainly wouldn't want that level of concentration and intensity. But having things a little more balanced would be nice. Why must we be kept in suspense about Doc Brown from Back to the Future. His announcement and reveal would help - not hinder - sales of Marty and the Delorean and yet, unlike Avengers or Iron Man where almost every conceivable figure is known about and teased right from the off, we're left with absolutely zero certainty about just one figure from another line. This uncertainty threatens to create a self-fulfilling prophecy scenario - just like Platoon and Avatar - where people don't buy the current figure because they justifiably suspect that the line will be left incomplete - and as a result the line does indeed end up being incomplete.

You mean like an endless procession of bikini models coming to my front door looking to hook up? Yeah, that would suck, I don't know how I'd react. :monkey3

No, really, I don't know how I'd react. :lol

If you want to compare ***** to toys, you could literally go to Nevada and get that many prostitutes at a high class brothel, at the same time for way less than the $4,000+ those figures would cost.

Also, how come Hot Toys never made a Chris Reeve Superman 2.0 as Clark Kent? I remember at the time of the MMS 152, we all thought that companion piece would be a no brainer. That damn evil Supes though. He was when the trend of repainted headsculpts was relatively new territory for them. Now it's common place. They don't even bother sculpting a new portrait for a new figure anymore.

In that reality? You'd be an Avengers fan.:lol

Seriously. Honestly, I'd still love to see them do that with an alternate, smiling Supes head.

Yeah, every ****ing Ice Cream Maker guy wish is being granted in the Iron Man and Avengers lines. Meanwhile over at Batman Returns......

Batman Returns is an old *** movie that was made 23 years ago. There's literally no difference between the Batman '89 suit and the Returns suit. It's not relevant any more. Nobody in Asia wants any characters from it, not now, not ever. The villains? Penguin and Catwoman aren't as as iconic or as popular as Obadiah Stane, Ivan Drago, Trevor Slattery, Ultron or his drones. Those two have no place in popular culture. They'll sell terribly and there is virtually no demand for them.

There's no profit to be had in Batman Returns to sustain Hot Toys and propel them into the next century. You have your Batman, Joker and Batmobile from that 26 year old movie a-dev, bug off and give these other fans a chance. Where did you even get the idea that there would be any interest in such a line anyway? What have you these delusions?

You guys already got your Batman Returns products back in the 90s,
