I always hoped they would’ve included a slicked back wet hair sculpt with the Luke Stormtrooper figure. It’s good to see at least they included multiples on this one.
And the DX07 looks like the guy in those publicity shots, are we kidding? The new one isn’t perfect, but as far as likeness goes it is much, much closer.View attachment 572534

In case anyone forgot what mark Hamill looks like back in 1980. My issue isn’t that the sculpt looks bad, my issue is that it doesn’t look like 1980 mark Hamil. And it’s ok to be excited for a figure, but let’s not kid ourselves.
Yep at least the standard is not reusing an old base. And the standard Ahsoka base is actually better than the deluxe one which is even funnier
It's an interesting quiestion - did Disney send a version of the VFX Hamill sculpt for HT to turn into a 3D sculpt they could print? It seems a little odd that the HT Mando Luke looks sooo much like the onscreen MH, "very CGI looking" and all.CGI Mark Hamill is easier to sculpt than Real Mark Hamill.
I think the problem is expression. That halo of bliss is just the contrary of what it should be.View attachment 572534

Yeah I recently bought an old SSC Luke Bespin (dirt cheap, just for a few of the parts) - I never had many of the very old human figs from 2006-2010 era - and was shocked how bad the cut/sew was compared to the DX07. Weird that there's really only about 4-5 years between the SSC and HT figures too.It is interesting to take a good hard look at this DX25 and compare it to what was once Howard's pride and joy, his very first Star Wars offering, the DX07.
The DX07 was a big leap at the time.
The DX25, standard fair for HT now. Cheap extras. Reuse. Little to no new effort.
The conqueror remains unmotivated.
I just found one of my DX07 figures today actually. It is a very solid figure, especially given the time -- almost 10 years ago. In hand, even the face doesn't look so bad -- doesn't look so much like Mark Hamill but it looks alive and real.

The DX07 was what got me collecting this stuff, I was totally blown away by it when I somehow randomly came across pictures on the internet. It has cost me a lot of money. Before I saw it I hadn't really collected Star Wars merch since I was in elementary school.
I think you're the first person I've heard of that came into the hobby by way of DX07. So many seem to have gotten hooked because of The Dark Knight. I would have thought a lot more people would be here because of Star Wars.
I also had the Kenner figures. The only thing DX07 was missing was Luke's yellow lightsaber.
