I think the issue is that they aimed so high (and succeeded) with the GOTG1 Groot design, we've just gone downhill ever since.

What a movie!!! A perfect cap to the trilogy imo. I’m not joking, I wouldn’t change a thing about this film. It’s remarkable how Gunn balances each of the core Guardians so perfectly in what is a busy film… not one particular character stand outs, because they all stand out equally. I don’t remember a director of the MCU being so in tune with their characters… he just knows how to write each and every one of them beautifully. It’s a phenomenal movie in which I will miss this team so so much. Instantly in my Top 3 MCU films… I cannot wait to see it again.
And this figure perfectly captures Groot’s characterisation in the film, there’s even a sly nod briefly to his comic book look…
Figure wise… We should get the team… I don’t see them making Kraglin or Cosmo (or Adam Warlock either) though…

. Neither will the High Evolutionary get made, but it would be cool to see his face sculpt in all its glory (two different HS for him would be amazing and grotesque but you will see that for urself when you watch it).

The next iteration of the team looks ok… with Phyla-Vell being the big surprise addition… oh and also excitingly… The Legendary Star-Lord will return

Exact way I feel. This looks like a cheap imitation from an conceptual perspective. The overly round head just is not doing it for me personally whatsoever. Way too goofy.

I like the unified look. Plus, Hot Toys so far has refused to make a newer, better shirtless Drax, so I can't really complete my pre-vol.3 team anyway. My only problem would be a (potential) lack of Gamora in a matching outfit.

This is also Hot Toys, so there's about a 50/50 chance that those Drax, Mantis, and Nebula figures even reach production.

Unless this movie is a monster hit, I doubt HT will release all those figures shown. And if they do, it will be over the next 4 years.

I think I'll skip this run. Lime the team suit avengers I dont think they are anything special. I agree with a ptevious poster that groot 1 hit it out of the park, dont really need teenage or early adult version.

An interesting assessment. I am really looking forward to seeing this movie sometime this weekend. I have been waiting for this for quite a while.

Although I haven’t seen the movie, I think we are almost sure to get an Adam Warlock figure …maybe just wishful thinking on my part, but I do believe this.

I'm getting it. I have no Groot and I like the action potential with this one. Plus, Sideshow let me use a Coupon Code with it.

I have zero Guardians, so the comic-accurate suits intrigue me. I would also likely get Star-Lord and Rocket. I have custom-Drax and custom-Gamorra in the hopper.
