Alright guys, i'm in a pickle. I'm debating whether or not if I should wait for this set to be Paypal eligible on SSC but i'm worried about this selling out due to low quantities made by Hot Toys or if I should just order it through my local comic book shop. The main reasons I wanna get it through SSC are for rewards points though. But SS never really seems to know when certain items will be paypal eligible until they're shipping the specific product regularly. So yeah, i'm not exactly sure what to do.

Oooh tough spot. I'd say the sooner the better but idk if this set is getting low on stock or not...

Yeah that's what i'm worried about. Apparently, the only way I can pay with Paypal right now is if I bought them individually...which most likely costs a little more. Hmm...I haven't checked by how much though..i'll do that now. I'm also trying to get in touch with the live chat.

Alright all I opened my Groot up and all I have to say is that he's AMAZING! Hot Toys really outdid themselves this time. The sculpting and paint is just so damn good! Honestly looks just like the CG Model you see in the film. It's really insane how good he is and it's the best one in the line so far. I highly recommend you pick Groot up. The size alone is quite good and how they hid the joints are very impressive. You won't be disappointed for the price. Very impressed and a review is coming tomorrow. Here's a quick pic I took and I may take one more. The weather over here in PA is really bad so not a lot of good lighting.

Yes, I was one of the international allocations. I was lucky that mine did finally convert very shortly before they were being shipped. I was never going to buy the regular from SSC because it is cheaper to buy locally, so it was the ex from them or nothing. I know there were several that bought the regular because they didn't think they could get the ex, so that was unfortunate for them.
Since mine was on an allocation I was not going to cancel my waitlist conversion because I honestly didn't think there would be a chance that it would go back to stock.

I ordered this ex 2 pack in the beginning and it again ended up sold out to my country at some point, so I'm happy to not be on a waitlist hoping it will eventually convert. Thankfully I also only have 1 payment left, so I won't be slugged the entire price at once lol.

I thought you might've been one of the international allocations for the Star-Lord figure. Glad you were able to get the EX this time around without any problems!

The two-pack costs as much as the two figures do separately (before shipping), but then you don't get the extra Groot head or hands, or the potted Groot(s). If you just want the regular set, it is eligible for the monthly $20 coupon, which may help with the price; not sure how that compares to your comic store's price though (not to mention shipping).

I remember a Sideshow post about low inventory on this set, but the regular edition has stayed in stock for a while, and the EX inventory doesn't seem to be too low for US customers (my waitlist attempts have converted within days). So I'm not sure what to believe, but I think it's safe waiting for the (regular) set to stay in stock and become Paypal eligible. If you're waiting for the EX set though, then I don't really expect that to become eligible (or come back in stock). It'd certainly be nice if Sideshow started showing low quantity alerts again (even if they're sometimes artificial).

Well I save on shipping if I order from my local store but i do want the rewards points. I think I might just order the single Groot myself. I'm assuming there aren't any promo codes that'll work on this dude is there? CS never responded to me about being able to use Paypal with the two pack, unfortunately.

I just tried and you can still use May's $20 coupon code for Groot - AVENGE2015.
Goodluck

The coupon codes basically cancel out the shipping cost, so if your store's price is the same as Sideshow's, then go for the rewards points.

And the $20 code Sidewinder mentioned expires on the 5th, so you still have a few days to use it.

Ryan, thanks for the pictures/impressions on Groot!

The EX set is shipping right? I just asked SSC to move up my final flex payment (which is this friday) to today so it could be shipped sooner, but I was told it's not in stock but they will notify me when it will be available.

No. It's a June-July warehouse date for the 2 pk.

I thought Sideshow usually shipped to flex payers last; I seem to recall some threads where people complained about the flex payers being pushed to the back of the line behind people who hadn't paid anything yet. Or maybe I'm confusing flex with Paypal payers. Either way, people who haven't paid anything are typically at the front of the line (I want to say the Mark 42 was an exception to this rule, but that was a while ago).

I'm just surprised that no one outside of the flex people have gotten a "have your credit card" ready email.
