For anyone who's in the UK, I emailed Collectibles Direct last night to ask about the two pack and was told they expect to get their stock within the next three weeks.

Thanks SilverStar! I'll probably pick him up soon :hi5:

You're welcome! :)

And nice pic jayiw! I'm not sure if you were referring to mine as being one of the ones you were wondering on how to go about acheiving getting him to stand without the clamp, but I have the clamp on mine. Like you said, I think his feet are too small to support the weight of the gun in his hand.

Thanks for the compliment (and thanks to the others who complimented my pic as well)!

I was just referring to them in general. I tried to fuss with it some more to get him to stand better and I noticed it's much easier with the gun lower for some reason but still I could not trust it... so I left my post as the pic and used the clamp. You can't really tell it's there but still I hate clamps just because they squeeze and I am afraid they'll permanently indent the figure in the long run.

I've had a little trouble getting Rocket to stand on his own with the gun. I remember someone posted about lifting the tail up to balance the weight of the gun, but then it looked weird with my pose. I can get him to stand on his own for short periods, but then he inevitably falls. Right now, I have him with his tail leaning on something to help with the balance; but it's also on my desk (lots of things to lean on) rather than in a display cabinet. But I absolutely refuse to use the stand/clamp. :pfft:

Many of us have the same issue. It's just the way he is with the small feet. If you don't want to use the clamp around his waist you can always put the clamp on the pole, push it down low position the tail to kind of position him where the tail sits on the clamp or through it. I tried that and the first time he still fell forward so I made him lean slightly back but that bugged me and you could notice the clamp there so ultimately I used the clamp around him. You can't even notice the clamp there. I'd rather not use it but I see no other option except for like I mentioned.

That part annoyed me when I first tried to have him leaning on his tail, but I think my current pose for him works. I know he has the small feet, and early on, he was fine. It was just that the joints started to loosen up a bit (downside to spending so much time trying to pose him).

The only way I can see myself using the stand is to pose Rocket on Groot's shoulder (there is little chance of stability there without any support), but I haven't spent much time recently tinkering with that. But in general, I don't use stands for any of my figures, and I want to keep that going with Rocket.

Mine had loose feet when I got him, but really not overly loose though. The tiny feet just cannot support the weight of the gun so even if it's not that loose the weight may make it tilt little by little eventually making it go off balance and fall. This reminds me of my 7" Neca Gypsy Danger figure, the one with the barge. Even though he has larger feet, the joints are too loose to support the weight of him holding the barge. I can have him stand fine for a week but eventually he falls. Every couple of days I check him and when I see him start to tilt I just bend him back a bit. If I forget he'll eventually take a dive, lol.

I try to avoid using stands where possible too, especially the newer style ones, they just take up so much room!

Got my set today :yess: - awesome figures, don't know why it took me so long to put in an order for them :lol ) :slap

Free-standers, unite!

And congrats on getting the set! This set wasn't even on my radar until the HK photos came out, but I'm quite glad I picked it up. I'm continually impressed by how fantastic Groot looks.

Set came yesterday, so freaking cool! Groot is simply amazing and Rocket is way better than I was anticipating. His headsculpt looks awesome in person!
