Yep it’s probably a mix of both, though to my eye the GOTG space suits look more appealing than the team suits.

Pricing is so weird to me at times. Why is the Rocket and Cosmo set more than this?

Because of the cost of molds. Cosmo is an added cost, whereas there's nothing in Star-Lord's parts that would require a new, larger mold.

If you laid out all the the molded parts for Rocket and Star-lord, they would probably be roughly the same size. Rocket's parts are smaller, but he's got a larger rifle, equivalent to the height of Star-Lord's boots, which are probably the biggest item on Star-lord's side of thing.

Here's an example with ballpark numbers.

Star-Lord​	7x7x3​	$15,000​
Cosmo​	8x8x3​	$20,000​

The cost of Rocket/Cosmo's molds are $30,000, whereas Star-Lord's mold is just $15,000.

So, that's an extra $15,000 in production costs, you assume they make 5,000 of each, that's $3 added to the production cost of each unit. And a 3x multiplier to production cost is pretty standard to get to retail cost. 2x production cost is your wholesale cost. So, that means you have about $9 in retail cost, and the actual price difference between the two is $15, and you fudge in Sideshow's margin, so we're still in the ballpark.

Pre-ordered Star Lord. Definitely a figure worth having and I'll probably be getting the rest of the Guardians also because at this point it might be the end of an Era. My affinity for GOTG 1 will have me see the third film and If I like it I'll be OK with the team and Spider-Man as my only Marvel figures.

Do you think there’s a chance that Nebula will come with her flying invention she used at the beginning of the movie against Adam?

My biggest complaint with the film the first time seeing it was that it felt a little long in the tooth. I feel ten to fifteen minutes could have been taken out to tighten up the movie a bit.

I kind of want Star-Lots too. The only thing is that I don’t really want to collect the full team but I’m also unsure if I want just him.

She slayed in the first act. Honestly, if HT had gone with first act looks for the team, I would not have been disappointed. But Nebula especially was awesome. I loved that angel of death jetpack thing.

Yeah, I'm good with Versions 1 & 2. The sculpt on this is superb and I like the suit materials but IMO the lack of accessories really makes this release a step down from his previous versions. Not all on HT though as he really didn't have much in the way of gadgets in the movie.

Hopefully they'll give Nebula a swap-out arm or two, otherwise she'll be a pass as well. Drax may be the only figure I get wearing the new team suit. I do hope they make another Gamora, as this may be her best look yet.

So we'll probably get StarLord, Groot, Rocket/Cosmo and Nebula, I feel we won't get the rest of the team.

Will they do a Mantis with one still on preorder now? Doubtful.
Drax should have been an easy one, considering they don't need to have all the tattoos on the body, but still no announcement of that one.
I don't think they'll do another Gamora either.
