Also got the Steelbook! So excited for Thanos, though it sucks we still have quite the wait DX

At least there's the movie to tide me over!

Also got Captain marvel and avengers 4 to hold us over before he’s out, maybe. Lol

I am most excited out of my IW preorders for Thanos & Thor. Just got home from picking up my Steel book copy and the disc is already in the player. Love this movie.

Same! Those will be my 2 IW purchases I think. They look brilliant. I'm contemplating buying the IW steelbook. But I'm trying to wait for the inevitable phase 1-3 ultra box set we might get next year once A4 wraps up.

So what's the general consensus ? Buy all Marvel movies on 4K (or as a sweet box set) or wait on Disney's streaming service. Am sure they'll be available in 4K.

But what I'm not sure on is if all extras will be available on the streaming service ??

I'm def avoiding the streaming service. I need that 4K box set. Streaming services come and go, but physical media will last. I still watch DVDs from 15 years ago lol.

I own pretty much all of the Marvel movies on Bluray and definitely all of the 4K releases (which there are only like 4). Still, I’d be down for a 4K box set too! I’m not down for streaming 4K though.

Apparently Disney have finally done robust Atmos tracks on the first two Avengers films so there will be the inevitable double dip but I’ve gone the 4K steelbook and already watched it and the commentary.

I'm guessing Disney will have something on the physical discs which you can't get on streaming and vice versa so as to minimise self cannibalisation. But physical sales must be in decline I imagine.

Don't get me wrong. I prefer the disks for sure and would prefer to go that route. But need to buy a 4K player etc. But I'm sure I'll be up for the streaming service, so it'll probably be all there anyway. Invest in 4K physical or not. That is the question.

Have decided to put off the 4K TV purchase until next year when HDMI 2,1 should be available in TVs. Maybe we'll know more about the streaming service by then too. Plus a potential first 10 years Marvel box set. That'll probably push me over the edge :lol

Actually, I think they're up to eight now!

Avengers
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Avengers: Infinity War
Black Panther
Thor: Ragnarok
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The Incredible Hulk

I’m the same though yet to get Spidey, Ragnarok and BP. Was toying with the idea of getting them 4K but tempted to wait for a 4K ultimate box set

Oh wow!
Yeah. I have five of those in 4K (the others on BluRay), but I wasn’t aware Incredible Hulk and Avengers 1 & 2 had been rereleased in 4K!

What if they released that extended version with 30min more Thanos backstory in the cinemas at Christmas to get people fired up for IW2 a few months later.

That would be the biggest "double dip" in history I think.

But would you go see it ?

Yes, sir. Hulk was released back in April to little or no fanfare. Both Avengers movies were actually released this week alongside Infinity War. I picked up the Steelbooks at Best Buy:

Avengers 4k Steelbook

Avengers: Age of Ultron 4K Steelbook

They have "regular" versions available as well:

Avengers 4K

Avengers: Age of Ultron 4K

Thanks Neal!
I just bought the 4K steel books for the first two movies (in store pick up). Used my rewards certificate too. I’ll scoop them on my way home!

You're welcome!
So far, I've watched about half of Avengers and the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster scene from Age of Ultron. Infinity War has taken up most of my viewing time over the last few days, so I haven't been able to check out much more than that. But, from what I've seen, they both look great.

Just watched Infinity War for the second time last night. My God it's even better on a second viewing. Thanos is a straight up beast. Can't wait for this figure and the finale in Avengers 4.

I have to give Marvel Studios visual effects team major props. Typically 4k can highlight the problems with sloppy design and bad CGI (*Cough* Steppenwolf) but when i saw Thanos on my 4k T.V. the detail in his CGI and facial caption is stunning. Easily one of the best CGI creations ever.

Yes it really is. I had a fun time ranking all of the Avengers films last week and I had it at #5, but now I think its #2, only behind Spider-Man Homecoming. It is such a good film and I appreciated it so much more after going back and watching all of the MCU films over a 2 week stretch. When I saw IW the first time, I had only see about half of them. It means so much more now.
