Ok so I must admit I am new to their wonderful products. I have to say first they are worth every penny. My only gripe is they break even when you are trying to be careful. I have watched P!tu's videos and he seems to break them putting them together as well. Examples that I have:

I cannot button the Predator 2 belt, The part that holds Hudson's light had to be glued down, Rambo 3 figure the bow broke trying to put the arrows on. Now to my last most famous break my Ed-209 which has since been fixed and not sold I might add.

So I really like these figures but come on. Why are they so easy to break? :monkey2

Oh and not to mention what a ***** of a time it is to actually put a predator together. I only hear good things about these figs. Almost like they are perfect. At least with Sideshow they don't break. At least from what I have seen. I will admit though that the Hot Toys are more detailed.

I have had similar problems. I just figure that when they are as intricate and replicate so much in the 1/6 scale it is inevitable that you are gonna have fragile parts. I think we see it more with Hot Toys because there is so much they attempt to do, and when you are doing it in plastic at such a small scale you just cant avoid it.

I had breakage with my early AVPs, but since then I have been fine. Once you learn how to handle them and take your time you really shouldnt have much breakage at all.

Well I am staring at about 40 Sideshow figures and not on one of the, do I really see anything detailed enough to break. Sideshows accessories are usually limited and not to intricate.

All I see in front of me that is comparable to Hot Toys figures is my LotR figures and I have had breakage with them.

Sideshow figures are mainly cloth with single molded plastic accessories, like swords or guns or lightsabers, nothing like what comes with many Hot Toys figures.

King I will agree these things are top notch. I just wish I could put them together the way they show them. They are very expensive. When you get into this stuff breakage hurts. I will still buy them. Nothing I have broken you would even notice. I just think that in some cases they should use there head a bit more when designing the stuff. :D

I know, sometimes it seems like there should be a simple solution to make things easier on us. But I dont know crap about designing figures and I am sure there is more to it than we think.

But breaking a $120+ figure does suck.

LOL! I have had so many ups and downs with these damn figures. Even Drakes name tag will turn to powder. Don't try it but if you touch it with anything sharp it turns into a pencil earaser. I actually had to match the colors and paint it a weird blue green. I am not joking it was that fragile that when touched it just went away. :lol

:lol

That sux. I busted Vasquez's gun trying to get her in the pose I wanted. Supeglue fixed it right up and I cant even tell where I broke it, but its still annoying.

I am glad that Les and Darkartist and others are on these boards. Would it not be for them I never would have tried to fix anything.

I been breaking **** since I was a kid, so I always have a large supply of super glue on hand:lol

Super Glue is your friend... it really seems that the more it costs, the more likely it is you're gonna **** something up :lol

But I agree with King, its the intricacy of the pieces that leads to so much trouble.

*loudly knocks on wood* The only issues I've had with HT so far were a bad Power Loader, which has been resolved, and 2 figures where the wrist pins broke off inside the forearm, and both were the muscular body.

Yep.... Those small pieces are a pain... too easy to break. :lol

Super Glue is my buddy though, thank God for the glue... :rock

Actually, my P2 Pred was pretty easy to put together(Except the net suit, of course). Got it done in under 20 minutes. Though I have had troubles with the combi-stick...

Have you tried using the heat method for the Predator 2 belt? As in using a hair-dryer to warm up the rubber so it is more pliable, then attach the belt and hold it while the rubber cools and hardens. I use this method on all rubber parts on HT figures and it helps immensely.

I've used Superglue on several of my HT figures but not all. I've used it on the Scar Predator's hip armor, I've used it on Hicks' crotch-armor rope (the lil metal button fell off) and most recently I used it on my ALIENS Warrior (this however was just for the hip ball-joint to tighten it up).

It's practically a given that you want some superglue handy with your Hot Toys figures...I also suggest a hair-dryer (or boiling it if you're comfortable with that). I used a hair dryer to take apart and put together all the armor on the Predator 2 and I did not have ONE breakage on him.

yeah my DIG figure is VERY fragile.
Mainly the smaller bars on the helmet. 2 came off straight out of the package and several others are loose.
The only thing that kept me from returning him is it must be expected. Since there was a small bag of replacement parts for the fragile pieces included.

I currently have (2) HT pieces: AvP Alien Warrior and Robocop 3 w/Flight Pack. My success has been 50/50 so far. The Alien was perfect straight out of the box and went together nicley. I wish I could say the same for Robo. At first he was IMPOSSIBLE to put together, the joints just did not was to pop into place. After some forcing it went. Somehow one of the pins holding his heel piston disappeared, I don't think it was there to begin with but I found something that fit and it's barely noticable. Next, the tip of the arm cannon was broken in the box. Lastly, I attempted to put the flight pack on and it was a nightmare. Everytime I got it on, the pistons holding the side arms on would keep popping out. Not to mention that the thing would just not stay on his back. After 45 minutes I gave up and left the pack off which is fine with me, I never cared for it in the first place. I only purchased this version because it had the removable helmet and it was half off of retail...

Now this being, would I buy HT again? Probably but depending on the piece. More than likely it would be simple pieces like another Alien, Clubber Lang or maybe the BD ED-209. I defintely would personally stay away from the more complex figures as I just don't have the patience and i'm not exactly the most gentle person on the planet...
