Much as I hate to, I have to agree with King. The fine detail is such that there's no way to do it without it being fragile. I probably have about 20-30 HT figures and I've had my fair share of breakage. And I know that it's particularly frustrating when it happens on a $300 figure like Copperhead or an Apexplorer.

But I see the alternative is to have Hasbro thick accessories designed for children, and that's no alternative at all. Sideshow items are as detailed but they haven't tried to do something as complicated as a Colonial Marine or a Power Loader. I'm sure there would be similar problems.

Like King said, these figures have some of the finest detail of any figures on the market these days. Things are going to break, and you basically have to be prepared for it. It would probably be a good idea to treat these things like you would a plastic model kit.

I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but their stuff has always been on the fragile side, even when you handle it carefully. A lot of it is minor stuff, luckily, that you can fix easily. Sometimes it calls for major surgery, but even then, with experience you can usually put things right again... with plenty of patience and a little ingenuity.

I have a basic set of tools that I always keep handy whenever I put together a new figure. The hairdryer has already been mentioned. Some different kinds of forceps and tweezers are great for adjusting straps and clothing. I also use some very sharp-pointed scissors from a dissecting kit, which are great for trimming small threads from the edges of clothing, pockets, etc. Last, but by no means least, the super glue, with a micro tube applicator. That really helps get the glue exactly where you want it and away from where you don't.

When major surgery is necessary, various thicknesses of brass wire, the stiff kind that's used for pinning together resin model kits and the like, can help fix most of the nasty stuff, like broken joints, pegs, posts, and so on. A pin vice, a set of micro drills, and a needle-nose pliers is about all you'll need for that.

It is nice to hear that others have the same problem. I have been able to fix everything that I broke. I was just in shock at first. They aren't cheap in the after market. I learned my lesson and will just now buy them in lieu of just holding off. :lol They are too damn cool looking to not buy. They really are amazing.

Yep, just today I got the FireSpecter figure in the mail... and sure enough a tiny-ass knob on one of the bendy pipes just snapped right off :lol Oh well, whatyagonnado?

Great figure though!

I promptly snapped the little ring off of Jack Sparrows compass as I was looking at it.:monkey2 It was my fault though. I thought it swiveled.:monkey1

Does anyone know how to put the Rambo III necklas or his watch on? I am to scared to try it without the proper knowledge.

Heat the head with a hair-dryer so it is soft, pop it off and then put on the necklace, then put it back on.

Don't know about the watch.

I also broke the ring off on Jack Sparrow's compass. That is actually one of the most unavoidable breaks on a figure's accessories...especially considering how it is glued. I just super-glued it back on and it was fine.

Thanks man, I will try that.

It worked! :chew

And the best part is I broke nothing. :rotfl

I did the same thing! :monkey2

One of the little pieces broke off inside his mask making it impossible to attach the hose to the face.

Hot Toys=fragile!:emperor

I got my 1st hot toys from Santa this year and the my only nitpick is the dang stands! They are a pain in the butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:emperor

When im assembling Predator limbs im always scared im gonna push too hard and snap it

That just shows you have uncommonly good sense, man! You should be scared. I found one thing that helps, tho... try rubbing a tiny amount of a mild lubricant on the leg/arm posts and inside the holes before you press them together. I think even a little dab of dish detergent would do, just to reduce the friction. After snapping off the leg post putting together my long-awaited P2 Pred, this is now SOP with all HT "kit" figures I get. :monkey4

I've had this happen so many times I'm too embarrassed to tell you, but I'm learning! :lol If you treat these like you would an actual plastic model kit and try to avoid the urge to "test" parts to see if they move, it would probably cut down on a fair amount of the accidental breakage. Some things are meant to be moveable, so when trying things out just be sure to do it ever so gently... and hopefully avoid some of those unpleasant little surprises. :monkey2

I use the Hot Toys stands but I use the Sideshow metal part that hooks on to the figure. They are much longer and hold better. I think Hot Toys needs to make them a bit longer.

I never even use the stands! They're all still in the boxes. They're nice for showing the figures off on a shelf, with the name plates and all, but I prefer to display mine standing on their own. Besides, I handle them too much to be taking the stands on and off all the time. Most Hot Toys figures stand quite well on their own, surprisingly, even the Predators.

Mine didn't snap off, but it's very, very loose. I expect that it will eventually break off.
