My initial reaction to seeing this repainted K2S0:

Yup, snowtrooper commander, second Jawa (leather vest) and another gonk (Mos Eisley/sandtrooper roadblock gonk) as well...

Does the Falcon cockpit and 1/6 TIE even rate a mention, or were they written off as false hope from the start?

Technically Han Bespin too, as it was a figure featuring all-new parts but it was never unveiled at a show, only shown in (official HT) Leia Bespin preview pics.

This is just lazy. Then again, I'm sure folks who missed on our K2SO are happy. Still, it doesn't look good for Vanth or Bane right about now.

This is $221 from Secret Base which is wild considering K2 was only $230 from Sideshow.

Very obscure decision. I think a straight K2 reissue would sell more than this.

....especially if they offered it now as an Andor release...considering the ever widening release schedule (with bumps), it might actually hit when the second season of that show drops and that season allegedly will feature K2's "debut".

That said, this re-do isn't totally shocking. K2 was a unique figure that featured some great engineering and development for a single character that did not utilize any re-used elements from other characters/figures at the time of it's release. One can't blame HT for leaping at the chance to offer a "variation" that requires minimal production effort over the original to further cash in on that initial R&D for the first figure. Plus, it offers "something new" that doesn't diminish the value of the first version.

Yes, but the issue is, this will not replace K2 since it has more weathering. So, those who want a proper K2 may stay away from this. On the other hand, I wonder how many collectors will want to see a generic enforcer droid in their collection. If nobody buys this, it doesn't matter HT put little effort into this, it will still be a loss. If I were HT, I would wait for Andor and do a straight re-issue of K2.

Can't understand why TBA demands a 50% deposit for this droid. This freaking figure won't release for, at least, two years in Q1 2024. No way it releases Q3 2023. It's not normal to put down such a large amount of cash up-front with a price tag like this item. Or any item for that matter.

Where are you shopping (in HK, NOT TW), fellow freaks?

HT still may do that straight re-issue. Doing that may also depend on K2's appearance in the Andor show...he may look a little different.

Honestly don’t hate it. It’s a zero-hype figure though, but a very sensible cost-saving move for what’s a very unique mold and tooling.

Still amused Hasbro themselves haven’t done this.

Oh I understand why they did it, I was just expecting a K-2SO reissue for the Andor series, not BoBF. I wouldn't have minded this one as a BoBF release further down the road, but prioritizing it over prominent, popular characters just shows HT's blatant disregard for their customers. I mean, just what ARE their sculptors/artists working on these days?? The list of characters from Hawkeye, BoBF, NWH, etc., that they've haven't released yet just keeps getting longer.

Not a bad price. If Sideshow puts it up for around $250 I might get one and pretend that it’s a battle damaged K2SO.

This was definitely unexpected. Like everyone has already said, an odd choice. Especially knowing he will eventually be in the Andor D+ show.

I may be tempted to get this in 3 years. He'd look pretty cool with some Troopers. My Shadow Trooper and Death Trooper specifically. Personally, I'd rather have this on the shelf with some Imperials over a Dark Trooper.
