This thread has turned to depression and grief.

Lol, definitely not the end of the world for me, but this far, sort of a bummer. I was looking forward to this figure from the first time HT showed off the online comicon reveal over a year ago. The consensus on the delay was to make sure HT was not competing with themselves as ROTJ was still fairly new. Now, with a new Luke (Crait) being released, and the figure for the first time in a long time not being shown off at one of the biggest Comicons of the year, I can't feel too sure anymore they will even release it. Maybe they still will, but I guess when is the mystery right now, if ever. Not to bash Sideshow, but for how badly I want Endor Luke to pair with my Scout Trooper, I just can't bring myself to purchase the SS ROTJ Deluxe Luke. That headsculpt with the Endor helmet on...I don't see anything resembling Luke at all with that one, so I really had my hopes with the HT version.

One more thing I hope to be wrong about...just watched a NYCC video, had to skip around a bit as it clocked in around 30 minutes...but it was the first display in quite some time where I didn't see Endor Luke. Palps, SSC Luke, Lando a few others were easily identifiable, but couldn't find any Endor Luke lurking on the display. Hmmm...

He's being shown in China though simultaneously. They probably just have the one proto. I wouldn't worry about the Crait version competing for space. They trotted that out literally right when people can start cancelling their Hobo look versions if they want (though that's actually the version I still want).

Regarding the lack of some stuff at NYCC, companies generally want to show off different things then They showed at SDCC, the absent pieces have either been shown quite a bit, and/or may be up for order soon, so they want to dedicate valuable display and travel space to other things, I wouldnt read too deep into the lack of something

Hmmm, this could possibly be a SW Celebration 2019 figure...:idea

I've been to the past couple U.S.-based Star Wars Celebrations and I don't remember exclusive-to-the-show high-end collectibles being there... is that a thing? Or did you just mean that they will re-reveal it there?

I honestly can't remember if HT has done a SW Celebration figure before? Anyone??

I know SSC has before, and Gentle Giant(statue/bust) for certain. (I've been there and purchased).

The Endor Luke makes sense because it's a new headsculpt, hat and poncho added to an already made body, outfit and accessories. Fairly easy.

But, who knows? HT is difficult to figure out. I just think "IF" HT has an exclusive to celebration, this figure would make sense.

I think the only figure they released to coincide with Star Wars Celebration was the Spacetrooper. The other exclusives they’ve done were either for SDCC or Force Friday.

This does sort of seem like it could be an exclusive but who knows what Hot Toys will do with it. I don’t think it’s getting shelved but it’s hard to say when we’ll get it. They just did two back to back weeks of Star Wars reveals and now last night was a Marvel reveal. I could see at least one or two more Star Wars reveals by the end of the year but who knows what they’ll be or when they’ll be announced.

Maybe for reveals but no way either of those would be exclusives. A Celebration or convention exclusive is more like a minor character that only the collector who wants everything will buy or a variant of a figure (various Troopers or figures in disguise like Trooper Luke and Han or the Imperial disguise Jyn).

Dark side Anakin says hi..

I'm hyped for Lando. Not so much Padme. Maybe if she has the full on episode I regalia, only to feed on peoples faces when they see her on my shelf.

Right, again variant. He’s the exact same figure with a different sculpt and a fancy base. Variant. Not an entirely new figure.

Did they ever do another Star Wars exclusive besides pre-crisp Vader? There was a Finn with blood on trooper helmet I think but that's it?

From SDCC:
Luke (Stormtrooper Disguise)
Han (Stormtrooper Disguise)
Shocktrooper (from one of the Battlefront games)
Anakin (Dark Side)

Force Friday:
Rey (Resistance Outfit)
Jyn (Imperial Disguise)

Celebration:
Spacetrooper

Miscellaneous:
Shadowtrooper
Gold Stormtrooper
Porcelain Stormtrooper

I can’t remember for sure what the Stormtrooper Finn was from. Might have been a Celebration figure too. I think I listed most of the exclusives.

Sorry, I missed the exclusive bit. Yes, Endor Luke is definitely a possibility.

Dark Side Anakin is just the same sculpt with different paint right?
Or yeah, that’s what I meant. Not a different sculpt but a repainted sculpt. Still surprises me how crazy some people went over that figure honestly. I suppose it’s a preference thing but the other Anakin came out only months before and was like $30 less. Aside from the repainted sculpt all the new one has is the new base.

The Anakin re-release is what gives me such sour grapes with this (possible) release. I mean, within the span of some folks not even receiving their "normal" EP 3 Ani, they went and put Dark Side Ani up for sale, with a different base, and the same exact clothes and sculpt, just a bit paler on the face and differently painted Sith eyes.

To me, the Endor Luke seemed a no-brainer. Same body, different head sculpt, different forest base, the camo poncho and hopefully a few more gloved hands. I understood staggering the sales to not cut into regular Luke orders, but then they went and did the Regular Ani/Dark Side Ani release, and the whole idea at that point seemed moot. So, who knows? My main frustration, for what it's worth, is showing the figure off for over a year now, and still not releasing ANY info about it that wasn't any different from the day the 2017 online Comicon email sign up page went live.

Another head scratcher today. Deadpool 2 regular version has not even shipped yet, but HT decided to also release the same exact figure in the "Grey Dusty Suit" version. The method they chose to release figures is somewhat mind boggling. Ugh. Oh well, keep hope alive, lol
