A Nam Wolverine project I'm working on;
Awesome custom!
I was one who foolishly passed on Wolvie, expecting HT to release a DX version later on. Even if not a DX, at least an "X-Men" version with uniform or X-Men movie civilian clothes, but with the proper hair style, and perhaps a slightly better sculpt.
But now I see that you can't take the HT releases for granted. I really thought Wolvie was a sure thing for a revamped re-release. But it's been, what, like 2 years now? Wolverine was one of my favourite characters growing up and reading comics in the 80s (the John Byrne X-Men is still the definitive X-Men for me) so I'm sad I missed out. $170 was a lot of cash for a single, fairly bare bones figure 2 years ago, and nowadays it seems to be the low end of the price range with HT.
My point is, you never know. It's no good to hold out, especially for a character that means something to you. Get these figures at the pre-order stage or right when they come out. If you were on the fence and end up not liking it, you could always sell it. HTs very seldom go for under retail in the aftermarket, so you could always at the very least get your money back.
I'm certainly not going to pay over retail for this figure, that's for sure. There's always the odd chance that he will be revisited by HT in the future, so I'll definitely jump at the chance at that point.
