The **** is hilarious with the 2 styles of display fully zipped jacket and slightly zipped down. Hot Toys are known to stretch the ‘multiple styles of display’ looking barely different but this may be the worst of it all.the two ‘styles’ of jacket display is absolutely hilarious now. Zipped ALL the way up or only slightly. Wow! That’s a new low.
I wonder if HT is trying to do the masked but shirtless saving the day version now and figured they could only sell that one if this one didn’t have the seamless body? If so, that’s a new low and I really hope they see some legal push back on the bait and switch. No ‘final product my differ’ language will save them from a change this significant. They’ll need to address the issue publicly, not this quiet change, and offer both refunds and price adjustments to avoid any threat of legal issues.
Regarding legal action, I’m no lawyer but I don’t think customers can sue on this lol. To sue, you’d have to claim damages and there’s no monetary loss, this is more like ordering that juicy Big Mac you saw in a poster but ended up getting a slop of crap. I didn’t order this but im here for the controversy
The shirtless pics are still up at places like BBTS. Guess not everyone has gotten the memo yet. The simple most likely explanation is that for whatever reason Disney didn’t want the bloody torso advertised, just like DC didn’t want Peacemaker shown holding his gun(s) for the figure or that Prime 1 statue.
My other (less likely) thought was that maybe they are redoing the shirtless pics? I always thought most of those had a real “floating head” look almost like his head was photoshopped onto the shirtless torso.

If they do a bait and switch with the seamless body then there would be something to go on. These require deposits so there is monetary investment in the product as advertised. A significant change like a different body would require the option to back out and get their deposit back at the very least. If HT is really up to such nefarious plans, they’re going to lose the faith of a lot of customers. Even if they’re refining the body, why the need to change the images without the update? Yeah you should get your deposit back if Hot Toys had goodwill but that’s different than legal action being taken. A bait and switch with the seamless body and a prototype sculpt which ended up looking a lot worse would be no different in the eyes of the law.

If they are dropping the seamless body this is truly the worst thing HT have ever done

Without the seamless body the price on this figure wouldn't be justified at all, so it better just be some weird temporary change.

Looking at the comparison pics, it looks like this may have just been an update to show the changes to the TVA jacket. They originally left the logo off to prevent spoilers i guess.
The update and removal of all the other pictures is similar to what they have done in the past. For example, the Wanda Vision Scarlett Witch. They updated the hair and placement of the crown. They completely removed all of the old picture and only updated with 5 pictures on the preorder.
I don't really understand removing all photos when smaller changes are made. Maybe their web design for both Hot Toys and Sideshow is that primitive that they can't just add an updated photos sections.

Still says "a realistic body design with torso and arms made of silicone material" and "Upper body and arms made from silicone material with inner metal skeleton," respectively.
I guess no one will know until it's actually released. I see a lot of cancellations happening if they do change the body.

LOL at the "Two styles of jacket display!" selling point. This is quite peculiar. A jointed upper body doesn't make sense if they are using a metal armature. Did they feel he needed more of an ab crunch so he's got joints there now?

I thought maybe that was the reason. No clue what the hell they are doing, especially since the description hasn't changed...yet.

This was such a weird figure to begin with, so many out of place items and now it got weirder.
Removing the body would be such a brain dead move… instead they should remove the Katana and the Jacket and add an alternate sculpt that can actually wear the mask because I’m pretty sure that’s the look we all want.
I don’t even want anything from this movie but even so il have a hard time passing on this figure with mask or brown suit with mask.
Unless the actual product description gets changed, I expect the seamless upper body to remain as originally solicited. Could be tons of reasons why the photos were changed out.
They updated the pics with that TVA logo about a week after the film came out so those updates aren’t new. The redacting of the seamless body entirely is what IS new here.
I wonder if they're having trouble with the battle damage effects. In the past painting rubber bodies was problematic, hence why we never got a seamless Drax or a Harley Quinn. Perhaps the silicone is giving them similar problems?
True, it just seems a pointless update until they have an update to show. All of those blurred out likenesses heads stay blurred out until they have the head ready to show. Even if they are updating something with the body, why remove all the body pictures at this stage, especially since they’ve been visible for months? A quick removal like with Mysterio’s unmasked head made more since than this one after months of preorders and really being the key selling point of the figure.
Oh yeah, it is definitely bizarre. I’m just gonna wait and see how it plays out with the expectation so far that it is more an issue/problem/accident with the photos than anything to do with the actual figure itself.
That could be. I’ve seen plenty of customizers do some fairly impressive work on TBLeague bodies. Simple things like pastels and acrylic pencils give permanent color to the bodies for things like unpainted nipples. So it’s possible to get some color to the bodies but if they’re struggling to get the desired effects right, they’ll probably need to switch to the articulated body and reduce that price and give options to cancel for refunds.
If the paint is the problem maybe a happy medium might be the type of body they used for John Matrix (Commando Arnold Schwarzenegger). That used a Hulk/Thanos type upper torso that only had shoulder seams.
