I'm really tempted to watch it I must say, might wait til' the night before he arrives though :lol

Oh, I'll definitely watch it before the arrival, and probably the day he arrives :lol. I've listened to the score countless times lately. Hell, when the proto debuted, I got so excited I bought the Dwight Yoakham song from the bar scene on iTunes :lol

Its considered cool to be like that because thats how most people are. Its easy to belittle things that are out of the norm because chances are you'll only be offending one person as opposed to everyone around you. Its the same with everything. Trust me collecting is far from my only eccentricity :)

Anyways a question, do most of you consider this to be the best HT fig yet? Or just your favorite? Or neither? I'd kinda look at it as at least potentially my favorite, but probably not the best they've done from an engineering standpoint, pretty much any Endo has a lot more intricacy. But then theres that HS :D

I think a lot of it has to do what you are using to judge the quality of the figure. If you are going by engineering, I'd definitely go with the any of the robots, or the ironman figs. But for a collectible that does justice to one of the greatest movies made in the last twenty years, this figure is up there. While the complexity of the figure is important, it doesn't matter to me if I don't care about the license. I have passed up on many many figures just because I'm not that interested in the movie, even though the figures kick ass (Terminator Salvation being a prime example).

Thats kinda what I'm asking really, just to see if most people judge by representation of the character or the actual amount of work to get it made in the first place :) Or anything else for that matter!

Nice pics everyone!

Love the headsculpt on this figure, another amazing job by HT's.

Can't wait to see one of you guys get some pics of him on a motorcycle. :rock

Who will get to it first!?!?!

For anybody that has also ordered from goodshipped, here's the reply I got today:
"[...] we (dealer) will receive our bulk batch (wholesales order) in late May 2010, hopefully. "
Was hoping I'd get him in the next few weeks, looks like it will become beginning of June at the earliest till he's here. :impatient:

Similar to Django, my favorite figures are always from licenses that I best like. Even though this T-800 looks to be as good a likeness as HT has done, he'll probably never be one of my favorite figures since I just don't care as much for the movie as I do for, say, T1, Aliens, Predator, or even Dark Knight.

Though I must say, I was never a huge fan of the Blade movies, but that figure has blown me away. Still not one of my favorites, though, for the above reason.

Yup, in terms of construction, while the new body is a bit innovative and the overall figure looks great, for the most part, this figure looks like a run of the mill Hot Toys figure today, it doesn't really demonstrate and significant engineering feets or problem solving like Iron Mans, or one of my favorite feats to date, Davy Jones.

As far as representing the character and looking accurrate, this is definitely one of HT's better figures in my book, but, in the past year, I'd say most of their figures have been some of their best work, Blade, Wolverine, Aldo, Comedian, those all look fantastic and have strong likenesses and quality costuming.

Obsessive behavior is the killer, if you have an addictive personality... and I'm guessing most around here do (I know I have), then as Eamon says moderation is the thing.
If the first thing you think about in the morning is -
Must have a cigarette!
Must have a beer!
Where's Fed Ex with my T-800!
... you are screwed.

I am so screwed and loving it :D

Late May...

two more weeks is late May :D
I really want to grab another one cheap in HK but suspect that by the time I get there TH is sold out again :(
