This is'nt the Alice hairstyle in the movie certainly,.(she looks more like linda Evangelista style if you ask me) ,but the figure looks sweet (but not accurate) in that way IMO

Triad toys could put rooted hair in any figure of course, but the BIG difference is the poor quality of their headsculpts.

The HT Black widow has rooted hair aswell..but she does'nt look cheap, It just only a matter of taste, and how well the rooted hair it's done.

Black Window looks like a blow-up doll and the hair looks like ass from behind if you get it looking decent from the front (and vice versa). HT has a lot of R&D still to do before they can pull off a decent rooted-hair figure.

If the BW looks like a blow-up doll it's just because her semi opened mouth but anyways, like I said before, It's a matter of personal tastes, because some people see a rooted hair and immediately they see, and reminds a doll or a Barbie, not an action figure or collectible.

It's the cheap, frizzy hair/open mouth combo that make her look like a blow-up doll. And again, you can get the hair looking decent from the front if you're willing to sacrifice how it looks in the back and vice versa. Black Widow's hair wasn't well executed. :lol

Her hair came out great, just a pain in the arse to futz.

No company today makes a totally realistic rooted hair, but I think that HT exceeds the average (Especially if you compare it to triad toys). IMO BW has really nice and well done hair in hand, but it needs fuzzing and more fuzzing..

The only rooted hairs that look more realistic are always custom mades (hair to hair transplant method :lol)

However, looking at this picture she really looks natural, realistic and sweet to me, but she does'nt look like Alice anymore because she has totally different hairstyle (she looks more like Linda Evangelista than Milla jovovich or Alice in the movie )

BTW, I had been reading the Abigail whistler thread, where some people are customizing rooted hair for her using Special shampoos, dyes, conditioners hairdryer and all that ____ to make her look more natural :lol

$150 for a Hot Toys figure.....

$50 for a decent 1/6 wig...

Taking your doll to the hair salon to have the hair professionally styled, priceless...

Speaking of rooted hair....

JUST AWESOME & BEAUTIFUL!! :lecture

Really?
It looks nothing like her.
Looks like some girl got angry at Barbie and did that to her.
That looks like an awful Triad-Toy figure to boot.
Rooted hair never works, with very few exceptions, like Black Widow and Silk Spectre. Leave the rooted hair to Barbie.

I normally don't mind rooted hair, but this attempt with rooted hair for Alice just doesn't look right. I'm glad HT went the sculpted hair route for Alice.

One of those figures where I was waiting for the in-hand pics before I spend the green. The unlikeness has really put me off. I wish they would've tucked the hair back on the sculpt, which would've accentuated her face. Overall I feel the delicacy and subtlety of Milla's face is missing. But that's just me...

Did you miss the swapout bangs that do just that? :lol
