I am one of those who believe that this line actually benefited from the delay of the movie -- that the figures -- at least SE and SS (and perhaps Colton) were already in the works the time the movie was originally slated for release.

That and probably every female Korean sculptor and or painter on the hot toys team is in love with Lee Byung-hun. :lol
 



The proto of the masked head made me think that the mask is separate but maybe non-removable, like a mix-media of pleather and netting.

The final product's masked HS appears to be purely sculpted with fabric netting on the mouth.

The unmasked figure looks like a real person, though, just like HT's Snake Eyes.

EDIT: I think it's the way the skin/eyes part of the masked HS sits on the final product. The proto had it sitting much deeper, making the mask and head look like separate pieces.
