I could picture him being promoted to a Darth by the time it's all said and done.

I don't really see how that would happen unless he just promotes himself to Darth. Because there are no other sith alive to do it.

That's not necessarily true. Supreme Cmndr Snoke is said to be powerful in the Dark Side and Kylo's mentor. I have a feeling that he is a Sith and lets Kylo in on the big secret. It's just my guess, but at this point we don't have anything else to go on other than the interviews here and there.

Idk about Darth Snoke. I think Snoke may just be his name, while is Sith title is a different alias. Like how Sheev Palpatine is Darth Sidious and Hego Damask is Darth Plagueis.

He's said to be a dark side user. Dark side and Sith seem to go hand in hand, so...

JJ Abrams and others working on it have repeatedly said that the Sith are dead. They died in Return of the Jedi. It was a small subsect religion of Dark force users.

People need to move on from ST Into Darkness. Just because JJ lied about a character in one of his movies doesn't mean he is now going to blatantly lie about everything else he does. He has intelligently avoided questions he didn't want us to know the answers to regarding this movie, there is no reason to think he wouldn't be doing the same with this specific question.

Except they aren't mutually inclusive things. Maybe what we were shown in the OT anyways but that was because the Sith were still around.

Still better than Lucas' desire to have a character named Darth Insanious or Darth Icky. :slap

Oh poodoo.

This is only true in one direction. Being Sith is a school of thought, an exclusive discipline. You have to use the Dark Side to be a Sith, but you don't have to be a Sith to use/embrace the Dark Side. The same could be said of the Jedi. They're just specific schools of thought. Snoke and these Knights of Ren could be Force users of a sort we haven't seen yet.

i would bet heavily that we will see the return of the Sith...

This. Yes practicing dark side and being a Sith aren't mutually exclusive, but all I'm saying are that chances are high we see the Sith in the new trilogy. At least I'm hoping as much.

I am sure they will make a resurgence at some point but I don't see it happening in this film. If anything the ending of this film could lead to it.

I'd love to see Kylo just take out Snoke at the end and then in Episode 8 he gets his own apprentice.

Well technically you were saying Kylo and Snoke were Sith. Which we have been specifically told they weren't.

It's essentially semantics in order to get around the established "rule of two". For all intents and purposes the Knights of Ren and the Sith are the exact same thing.

Sith= bad guy Jedis
