For me personally thats excellent! I can only assume that will also push the DX Batman back as well. Even better if it does.

I agree. I am disappointed in the delay however, I am fine with HT delaying a release to perfect a character or characters.

People complain about inaccuracies, variants etc. from rushing a release however, HT delays a figure to get it right. People complain. :pow

In addition, TDK figures are losing steam with all the other releases / announcements that a delay is not bothersome to me.

The reality is, this figure isn't really delayed, 4 months to get this out was WAY too ambitious on HT's part, a realsitic projection would have been this newest release date, so in effect, production is probably close to on time, it only seems delayed and dragged out because of poor early estimates on production.

This just came out the end of March for preordering, it's only been about 5 months, for essentially 2 figures worth of work.

Either way (too ambitious or delay) I am fine with the extended release date.
The only reason I maintain interest in either figure (Joker or Batman) is the "deluxe" label. I may wind up canceling as my interest in the Batman franchise is long past. I have BRJ and Original Suit Batman which completes my TDK fix.

I am new to this hobby but it almost seems like every HT release (only ones I have been buying so far :p ) has seen significant delays and new releases like JC V2 and IM M3 are still set for Q4 09 and Q4 09 - Q1 10 leads me to believe that it is more of a marketing decision than anything else. They obviously fear that a real release date 7+ months down will not drive the pre orders they are looking for. Lucky for me I am very patient and see no issues keeping my cash for a little longer :D Yes it would be nice to get Joker to fight batman beside my tumbler but If I had known the new joker won't be out until Nov possibly Dec I would likely have already caved and bought the BRJ

Marcus wright had 2 resculpts and is coming out 5 months after he went up for order, only 1 month later than projected.

Average, standard figures for HT don't see delays for the most part, the first John Connor was right on time until a lackluster paint job was spotted and dealt with.

Some of the figures end up taking longer because, good news bad news, people write in with corrections and things, and HT listens, but HT's original projections are based on delivering the figure they show you, not the one people ask for.

Other times, like this Joker, they probably just underestimate things, some of these new technologies may surprise them with how not easy they are to do in mass production.

I think the new Iron Man in Q4 is a bit too ambitious, but the John Connor is quite doable, especially since the head is the first one with blood paint added, they could have ran off extras when redoing the first one.

We all know that HOT TOYS monitor these forums and they will probably be chuckling away at the building frustration. They are probably holding back any new images of this first DX until the very last moment. I expect we will be blown away by new pics any time now....

I have it on good authority that the DX Joker will be out within the next 4 weeks (the aim is by the end of Sept), my source has said that they have seen it in person and that the eyes worked even better than expected. Updated pics 'should' come soon.:D

Good to hear on the eyes, though I'm not sure really what that means. With permanently sculpted eyelids, there's only so much movement, unless they're thinking more in terms of the quality of the transparency than the movement function.

And good to hear 4 weeks for HK, hopefully that's about 6-7 for Toys2.

www.toys2.net

They're an official Hot Toys distributor based out of Canada, they get shipments of the Dark Knight figures direct from Hot Toys like the Hong Kong dealers, where most distributors in North America get their supply of the Dark Knight figures from DC Direct, who gets their shipments month after the HT direct dealers.

I must take this opportunity to clear things up on Toys2.net. Eric is not a distributor, he is a relative of the actual owner of Hot Toys (Brother in law) Eric is a retailer with special treatment. I know for a fact that he buys from the real Canadian Sideshow/Hot Toys distributor here in Calgary, Alberta.

I confirmed this with the owner (Chinook Hobby West) back in May.
