Another reason not to pre order from ebay if you want the figure asap is because you don't know who will get the figure first !. So its usually just best to wait and see.

I think the new tie is infinitely better than the v1, the v1 was about as bad as it could have gotten I think, vinyl material, hardly there pattern.

Really?

Not sure bout the pattern, but the knot and the overall shape on mine looks pretty good though, IMO.

Here's a quick pic of mine:

I didn't PO him from my local dealer as I don't mind paying a bit more for him, and get him the minute he's out from HK re sellers.

I normally dislike the concept of PO, having your money in someone elses pocket without getting anything for a couple of months time. I could use the money for something else.

But I recently PO mark 3 BD from the dealer, cause I'm not really that desparate for him, as I already have 4 IMs on my shelf. So yeah, I can wait a bit for that. Plus, with my past experience with IMs (flaps probs etc), its best to get it from my local dealer as I can inspect the fig beforehand.

Just out of curiousity, all you guys chasing him down through these eBay guys, are you cancelling preorders elsewhere to get him faster or are you just ordering it now and if so, why sit on it so long, I know a lot of you have known about the existence of thie figure for quite awhile.

For me, it's the lack of pattern and the cheap material that it's made out of that take it down, it's got a nice shape but it just looks poor in every other way to me and I'd rather lesser shape and nicer looking material with the relevant pattern. With Ledger Joker, one of the things that stands out to me about his wardrobe are the shirt and tie patterns, so I prefer pieces that sell that. Like I said before about the BillyB shirt, I love that when you have just the collar showing, you can still clearly see the hexagonal pattern where Hot Toys' shirt really requires stripping him down to the vest or less to notice the pattern.

Not sure where you buy things from, but I've never paid up front for a preorder, Sideshow, Toys2, BBTS, they all preorder with no cash in advance. Toys2 has a cancellation fee that might make you hesitant but you don't lose any money and get the security of knowing you have one on order.

I've never really took notice of the actual movie tie pattern.

What does a billyb shirt and tie looks like btw? I'm quite curious on how they look.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming to be an expert on the tie or shirt pattern and looking for 100% authentic, I just happen to have the distinction of the wacky patterns standing out in my mental image of Ledger Joker, and close enough is ok, I mean the DX tie is pretty good and if the Billy B set weren't such a good deal I'd have been fine with it, more so than the v1, I just got lucky enough to nab a BillyB. I can't tell you how accurrate or not Billy's set is, I just think it looks great and the best option out there for shirt and tie that I've seen.

costly mistake by Hottoys :(

How is it a costly mistake?

While it's a head scratcher, I really don't see it being something worth worrying about, I'm not dropping $200 for a card that nods a tribute to Heath :lol

Companies get typos on boxes all the time, Sideshow does and there isn't even translation occurring.
