Re: Hot toys dx joker !?!?! ...

While DCD imported HT Bats, they also made their own figure. THAT is the one that is garbage.

Re: Hot toys dx joker !?!?! ...

The 13 inch DCD Batmen don't sell for very much. He must be referring to the DC Direct batch of the DX Batman (though I don't recall it ever selling for $100 outside of a GoHastings sale).

Though I'm not a big fan of the DC Direct 13 inch figures in general, those Batmen look fantastic.

Re: Hot toys dx joker !?!?! ...

The Hot Toys version is the one I am talking about...same figure as the Hot Toys...only because it was made by Hot Toys...hell the box has the HT logo on it.

Its all hot toys ..dcd just imported it.

Re: Hot toys dx joker !?!?! ...

Nam kind of has a point, though the term "butchered" is kind of harsh.

Think of all the people that have, lets say, "improved" or "altered" the figure. Then take into account those hardcore fans that have no intention of selling it. That's alot of people. More people = less Jokers. Less Jokers + high demand = crazy prices.

The altered versions are unique and not really "DX Joker" anymore. They're a custom Joker. Buyers may not be into that sort of thing and would most likely seek out a MIB original figure.

There are a bunch of other reasons that come to mind. The popularity of the character (Joker is always a hot item. Animated, Nicholson, Ledger, I don't care, Joker sells). Ledger's performance, oscar and most importantly, death. The brand name, Hot Toys. The license, BATMAN. The best 1/6 version currently available. I could go on and on.

Look at Bank Robber Joker. The poor guy was dropping with V1 downwards to about $100. Thankfully this isn't the case currently, it's climbing back to the top.

It doesn't surprise me at all. I'm glad I bought multiples for cheap prices.

Re: Hot toys dx joker !?!?! ...

Agreed. The comic versions look very good, though. Surely the best mass-produced, comic style (roughly) 1/6th scale incarnations of Batman.

I've got the blue one. I just wish he was 12 inches tall.

how tall are these? 13"
i might (one day some day) get the black "comic" version

Re: Hot toys dx joker !?!?! ...

Yeah, they are about 13 inches tall. Their bodies aren't very good (they feel light and cheap, and you won't get True Type level articulation or anything), and my Batman's fist doesn't stay in, but like I said, they look good. Price isn't too bad, either. You can probably find them for around $50 or less.
