The joker fanatics and the resulting hostility is pretty much just a result of internet forums and websites and all that I suppose. Kind of weird how these things materialize into more internet conversation and videos.

Actually yes. Onision is a bit of an acquired taste.

He's actually a pretty mellow guy if you watch a variety of his videos. Many of them are serious. He has many characters, Joker is just one of them. Granted, most of his characters are spazes, but that's his brand of comedy. You are supposed to think "what a freak. He's just looking for attention." Similar to David Brent in the British "The Office." (And to a leaser extent Michael Scott.)
