It seemed like they were pressed for time or something. They really couldn't do a second take of Talia's death? I know shes a better actress than that.
Then there's Gordon mumbling through the speech, and the mayor who goes "guflubblub" when introducing Gordon. Was that really the best take?

I have the DX12 it is great figure, just wondering why you cancelled it? Is it because of that ugly PERS head?
I don't know about Lejuan, but is a lot of hard work to modd these things.
I just put the Medix head on my Dx12 and that is good enough for me.
I'm VERY critical about what looks good, and was hesitant about picking it up, but it looks good in hand. Very good. The skinny ankles are terrible though, but it's a very easy (and non-permanent) mod.

I honestly didn't notice his skinny ankles. What did you do to fix them?

I don't like doing irreversible mods on $250 figures. My b **ls aren't hairy enough.

Yeh, and it takes some practice to get your confidence up. I wouldn't want to take to one of these without cutting my teeth on something cheaper.
I've always preferred the OC Bats to represent the franchise good guy, so this had to be a perfect figure out of the box to suck me in. As I said, I know a lot of folks are happy with it, but I would've felt like I'd been sold short had I kept my PO.
I know DX11 is kind of crying out for a TDK Bats to accompany it, but it's fine to have this figure representing the bad guy of the franchise

Fair enough, I feel pretty negative about Bane, but DX12 with a custom cape and the ankle mods... not too bad at all.

Yeah thats how I feel about it exactly. I know I won't be happy with the stock figure when I'm constantly seeing the modded ones. I don't think I'd be able to pull off many of those mods and to be honest I feel kind of indignant that they have to be done in the first place. It was HT third go at the suit in this scale, they should have gotten it right
So I will wait again, and if another one doesn't come so be it.

Other than the shoes as boots I think the suit is perfect! I have been waiting since 2008 for Hot Toys to do a TDK suit, because all the other ones have sucked IMO. I think the DX02 was ok but sometimes it looked like it had a big gut, while the rest of the figure was slim. Futhermore, it did not look like a costume, it looked more like a suit of Armor.
Now the only thing really wrong with this figure IMO is the ugly PERS head with giant eyes and you are right we should not have to do mods for the entire figure to be fine.

I despise the DX 12 head. I love the features, and I think they did a decent job with the cowl, but the overall execution is just poor. Who, in their right mind, picks a smirking expression for Bats' main faceplate? Not to mention that they didn't do a particularly good job with the open-mouthed expression. Combine those two things with Doe eyed Batman and you get a recipe for disaster.
That being said, I'll get the figure (maybe), and that's because it has one saving grace:the body. HT saved their asses a sale when they announced that armory because now I know that I can have a cool Batman display without heavy modding or the gonzo head.

Thats the biggest ''crime'' about the DX12. The huge cartoony eyes were an oft-mentioned flaw on DX02 and they are pretty much just as bad on DX12. This is ridiculous considering Bale was most often seen with a squint - any screengrab or promo shot you can find - small squinty eyes.
Then theres misaligned batsymbols and suit patterns and so on.
Meh. Other things I'd rather spend my money on.
I actually can't believe HT released that sculpt the way it is at this late date. That's how bad I think it is. I really thought it was a no brainer for them and it was going to be a grand slam. No reason why they couldn't have gotten that head perfect or damn near close to it. They have both the means and the talent.

Oops, I forgot about the faceplate, but you can buy Robbies or Hunters one for $15- $35 painted, so that solves that problem.

Hot Toys does the complete opposite to what a TDK Batman should look like all so you can have moveable eyes, even the DC direct statue has more accurate eyes.
Heck even the old MMS71 has small eyes!
