Thanks for that! Yeah I mean, I took another look, there is just no hole there. And if there is, the shoe and the sole are squished together so tightly that the hole is kinda gone. It just feels like I'm breaking the shoe putting that blade in there. Ughgughgghghg....

It might be just that. If you look at that 2nd photo, you can see only a snippet of the slot. What you can try doing is taking a thin blade (exacto knife or box cutter) and try to pry it a bit so that it shows. Don't necessary slice or cut it, but just wiggle the blade around the tip of the shoe to try and expose it. The slit/slot is there, it's just very thin/miniscule.

I was never really pleased with the paint on mine so he rocked the BR head for awhile. I figured what the hell and did a little touch up. Not scene specific just more to my liking. Also weathered the coat which toned down the fluffiness.

How did you go about weathering the coat?
