Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I would probably get Magneto in his costume at the very end of the movie. Not the yellow jumpsuit. Everything else would be a pass for me.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

seen this earlier today with the wife!
Would definately buy an Azazel,Emma frost and also the end scene Magneto...heck id buy a Moira McTaggert from the opening scenes in Shaws hotel scene....even a Mystique figure would be nice too.
Just checking also...in movie timeline, does this sit after Wolverine:Origins?

Okay, that's probably going a bit far.. don't get your hopes up! TDK had a touch more complexity with a stronger script, but 1st Class still a fine comic book movie.

I'd say watching it without any of those kinds of comparisons in mind will make it more enjoyable.

I actually think she looked pretty awesome in the flightsuit:

They could make her wear the hotelscene outfit underneath that :D

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Origins takes place in the late 60s early 70s, I think this new movie should set up a whole new line of movies and just forget the others, I liked the William Stryker nod too, but wolves would still have his bone claws in this new movie

I was curious about that too, only because at the end of Origins, Prof. X was already looking pretty old.

Well, since Wolverine ties in with the Three Mile Island incident which happened in 1979, and this one ties in with the Cuban Missile Crisis, I'd say this takes place before Wolverine.

I'm actually thinking that they kept the Origins film out of the continuity completely. Xavier still walks in Origins if I'm not mistaken which would be impossible given the events from First Class.

Dont remember him walking, pretty sure he was in his wheel chair, plus in this movie it shows cyclops, storm and Jean non of which should be DNA yet, so I think the other movies are out the window

So are they just tossing everything out the window, but keeping Jackman as Wolverine though?

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I think it's safe to say that we'll get Xavier & Magneto in their blue & yellow flight suits. Ohhh imagine the customs.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Pass. The only figure I'd even be remotely interested in getting would be Emma but the likeness would REALLY have to wow me before I even consider it.

I'm gonna have to revise my earlier statement. After watching the XM:FC I would definitely contemplate getting an Emma Frost and Magneto figures done by HT especially if Magneto has his outfit from the end of the movie.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I think the X-Men movies are using the same skewed time line we see in the comics that decades are only a couple of years. The Marvel Universe moves faster that ours.

i'm more concerned how this film disregards the opening scent in X-M<en 3. Whether Bryan Singer was involved in x3 and XOW or not, as a franchise I 'm a bit bothered by their obvious disregarding of the films Singer didn't have a hand in.

There cinematic contradictions has got many people bothered. X3 does
contradict First Class as do Origins. People want to say that only X1 and
X2 count as far as continuity is concerned except for the fact that X3 ties directly into X2 whether they want to acknowledge it or not.

This is the thing. Singer has eluded to but been smart enough to not outright say that this ignores X3. Everyone involved with X-Men at Fox has said that everything will ignore X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The Wolverine won't tie or even mention it Darren Aronofsky and Hugh Jackman admitted it. Singer has said it isn't a prequel but a new timeline but if all the net spoilers have said he ties it well into his own films. The best way to figure this out is look at his dealings with Superman. He ignored the last two Superman films with his Returns because he felt it was best. He ignores the last two X-Men films with his produced FC for the same reason I'm sure. They real question is if this goes three films like they've been saying whether they'll be tempted to directly tie to X1.
