Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I enjoyed this film a lot! It was a good film, parts were a little slow and characters not quite as well developed as they could be. Dark Knight level? Get over yourselves people not even close. Great superhero movie? Absolutely. Great movie? I'd say very good movie!

The fanboy inside of me though misses the x-Men I love. Jean, Scott, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Logan.

I think that's what really made me walk away from this feeling like I just didn't see an X-Men film.

I liked the plot, acting, story. I liked Magnus and Charles a lot and besides the bad-assness of Magnus there was no one who really seemed all that cool to me and to be honest it bugged me a bit. Memorable characters is what it lacked I think. Other than Magneto no one owned that marketability IMO. No Batman, No Wolverine, no Joker or Two Face. The movie needed those characters with that coolness factor.

And having a bald charles would have settled that little fanboy inside of me. Really liked McAvoy;s portrayal though! But Patrick Stewart really is the Prof so you can't really replicate that, i can see why they wanted to go in another direction.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

As for who to make to make the line feel "complete" Who is really needed other than Charles and Magnus? the Alpha and Omega of the X-Men. Hot Toys needs to make both o those right off the bat and call it a day. no one else would be figure worthy anyways.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Well, since Wolverine ties in with the Three Mile Island incident which happened in 1979, and this one ties in with the Cuban Missile Crisis, I'd say this takes place before Wolverine.

I'm actually thinking that they kept the Origins film out of the continuity completely. Xavier still walks in Origins if I'm not mistaken which would be impossible given the events from First Class.

The director made the movie he wanted to make. He doesn't care about continuity or about any of the films that came before, which is refreshing in the day and age.

I would be perfectly fine with those two alone, but I would love a Mystique as well.

I think to fully enjoy the film you gotta put away your inner fanboy, and just enjoy the flick. The fact that there was no Wolverine or Cyclops was refreshing, and I am a huge wolverine fan. This movie didn't need a commercial character to piggy back on, it rocks the way it is.

Hot Toys wise besides Erik and Charles in flight suits, I could see them doin Mystique with extra Raven HS.

IF HT was smart, they'd make Charles and Eric and then make Professor X and Magneto (Stewart and McKellan) right after. That way we'd get a "then and now" type of display. That would really help sell those figures IMO, or at least drive up their value after they are sold out everywhere :lol

But
Wolverine and Cyclops were in it, cameos but they were.

Best use of
Wolverine
for a while!

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

This morning I'm going to watch it.
After the trailers and some interesting interviews, as well as awareness that this film has almost no relationship to the previous trilogy, I finally decided. Really hope that I'll don't like it - my wallet is almost always empty because of collectibles :D:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Yesterday I saw X-Men and am so happy to hear that Hot Toys will be making figures from this movie!

Saw this twice already Dam good, actors are amazing. Its up there with Batman not quite but close. They can make at least 13 figures from this line. Whats the most the have done from any one movie?

Can someone put up some clear pics of the characters?

Sorry but it directly ties into the previous trilogy and both Bryan singer and fox are heavily involved

These basics I am well aware.
But the fact is a fact - logically it poorly fit in original X-trilogy, like Origins:Wolverine.
