Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

^^^^ I agree.......Beyond Magneto he was my second choice for a figure from the license. I won't get my hopes up tho.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I'm sorry not to seam stupid, but what is POTA in reference to?

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I think I'll have to see this movie before I even consider picking up one of these figures. Maybe a Michael Fassbender Magneto or a James McAvoy Professor X would be okay, but we will see ;)

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I will have to check out those figures to see the potential. You would have to figure that sculpted hair would be out of question.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Id be REALLY surprised if HT did a Beast figure.
I could forsee Magneto first...Xavier,hmmm not too sure.
maybe they would do him 2nd.
Id like a Mystique and Azazel...

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I am getting more interested in this movie as the early reviews keep pouring in with praise. . .but the character designs do very little for me. I would be interested the generic yellow and blue outfits if we got Psyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, and Marvel Girl. But Beast is the only one of the group in this film that was an OG X-Man of course, and he's gonna be furry (which he wasn't until much later in the comics). Prof. X is a pretty boy with hair, so no interest there for me. The guy playing Mags was great in Inglorious Basterds, but apart from the helmet, he's probably gonna be wearing the generic blue and yellow suit (or maybe a business suit), so that's another figure I'm not gonna be very interested in. I don't care for the other characters much. This movie's success isn't gonna play a role here.

The X1, X2, and X3 figures are something I'll have much more of an interest in.

I have been interested since this was first announced but the truth is that I am quite surprised it is receiving so much praise lately.

I don't know, I don't want to keep my expectations too high, but if the movie is actually as good as as it is being suggested, this might get to be popular after all.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

the studio is rumored to be planning this as the first of a new trilogy so they are probably doing everything possible to make the fans enjoy this film.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Watch this clip and tell me that an HT Fassbender Magneto wouldn't be awesome.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I'm surprised by this announcement, and utterly uninterested. Congrats to all the folks who are into this though, it's always good to see new figures about.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Why is everyone so quick to say 'pass'?

...No one has seen the movie or even seen protos of what HT is set to produce. Known character models or not why the pre-bashing of an unveiled product (film and figures)? At least wait until you see the film before you make your final judgements, as it may change your overall interest; its happened a many of times.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I dunno. I think McKellen's scene with the guns is more impressive. :dunno

I'd definatley say Mags is the obvious choice here. But given HT's track record with the X-men prequels, we will get 1 figure :lol

Wolverine and Sabertooth were the obvious choices from Wolverine, but we only got Logan. So not even Charles and Magneto are a given really.

NEVER AGAIN

Like I said earlier--good actor based on what little I've seen. But he doesn't look like Magneto with the blue/yellow suit and silver helmet IMO. I don't buy figures simply because they were from good movies. I want my Marvel characters to look reasonably iconic. Wolverine: Origins is a crap movie, but he looks like Logan from the comics. Ghost Rider was an even crappier movie, but figure looks like he looks in the comics. Thor doesn't look exactly like the comic version, but close enough for a movie incarnation.

Some of MacKellen's looks would be much more acceptable on my shelf. This character is recognizable as Magneto because of the helmet.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Agreed Kara. I feel the exact same way. I collect most of the Marvel film figures because they are the best figures of the characters available in this scale. If they look enough like their comic versions, even better.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

It seems likely that we'll get a more traditional looking Magneto getup near or at the end of the movie based off of pics floating around the interwebs from the trailer. If they do that figure, I'd be pretty tempted to buy it.
