Hot Toys should hire someone with enough business sense to realize ALL their products should be up for preorder with the film or DVD release or relatively close proximity to it. Capitalize and maximize.

Of course stuff gets held up for whatever reason, but they should make what they're doing with The Avengers stuff standard practice.

Oh yeah, and give me my ____ing Metal Gear crap

I agree it makes sense to do this. But it would be hard to release several figures at once for PO. Also, we are fans. We have no true knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe they want to do everything we all post on these boards. There may be someone sitting in a office in tears that he hasn't been able to produce a Green Lantern or a Magneto. But legal CRAP prevents this from happening.

We just don't know.:dunno

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

it just seems like hot toys doesn't have enough manpower to keep up with all their product lines. i think they need to hire some ppl with good experience to tell them that they are seriously screwing up their potential for profit with so many basic business mistakes.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

You talk about marketing and business like you´ll understand anything about it.

Sure, it made all the sense in the world to launch the figures with the movie release, or at least with the DVD... And yes, let´s fool ourselves thinking that HT is a bunch of people sitting on a table customizing figures without any clue what to do next.

But the reality is that we don´t have ANY idea how hard must be to do the clothes, HS´s, paints, etc...

And I also do not think is that easy to hire people capable of this...

Which I think must be undesrtood is that HT is making iconic figures for people who are fans. This means that even if Hot Toys give us a Magneto figure in the next year, people who LIKES Magneto will purchase it then...

The Avengers figures (SEVEN of them, most of which are way more complicated than humans in yellow jump suits :lol) are coinciding with the film, and the Dark Knight Risess stuff will as well. So I call bull ____ on that.

Aside from films that are decades old and require nightmare-inducing rights chasing from multiple parties, the modern films have built-in likeness clauses in contracts. And if something, like a head sculpt, is not approved? They blur it out on the specs pictures and put a TBD like they did with Iron Man Mark IV or DX Sparrow. Hot Toys missed the window on X-men, they know it, and are focusing on not missing it with The Avengers and Batman later in the year. Hopefully, if they do get stuff from X-men out, lower sales from less hype will help them get ____ out on time with future licenses.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

agreed. i personally think something fell through because why no word on anything. Seems kinda weird x-men is getting no attention at all but avengers is going to get the full lineup. not to mention the long wait and not even a teaser picture.

If they have missed their window on this line, I take it you won't be buying anything from this line then. I agree with what you say about non approved head sculpts that they can give us some sort of teaser, but with regards to time line, I will be just as excited to see these figures when ever they come out.

"Production of X Men First Class is going well. One of our two products is in a wheelchair"

'Wanted' bash :yess:

Yes I know that's a pic from X Men.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

True HARDCORE fans will pick these up- but more casual fans who really liked the movie..well the honeymoon is over, I'll probably pass..
HT will lose alot of sales because of timing..or lack there of it.
