Cheesus, I just saw P.'s photos. I didn't think a-dev's collection would ever have competition. :lol

Any MMS T2 Arnies in your collection, P., or are they all the newer DXs?
there' a competition without actual competing for a long time already :)
nope, i had 1 MMS117 long ago, and it was meant to be my last T2. then there was DX10 but i still wasn't interested. then DX13 was announced - and i immediately started counting how many scenes i have to cover with 10 and 13 :)
my mistake - it turns out i had more than 2 MMS117. may be 3. they all became parts donors.

Fantastic stuff! You do indeed have some unique items in there - your punk scene, T1 bike, Kyle Reese figures, Future War infiltrator, blown-in-half Endoskeleton and your T2 clothes acquisition scene are all things I don't have going on.

Love the pose on your Uzi-toting Tech Noir T-800.

For me to do group shots is a major pain in the backside. The shelves that I have are so unfit for purpose that the only place I can put the figures to take the shots is the floor, and my toy room is small so I don't have much manoeuvring (my god did I actually spell that right?!) space to even get them all in the same shot - plus it'd be a top-down sort of angle which is incredibly unflattering to most figures let alone the afro-heads of the T2 T-800s :lol I'd have to relocate them to the kitchen to eliminate these issues and that's just not something I'm going to do.

Awwww... :(

That is wonderful P!

Thanks for all the tips and help P. that is one great display and it has been a pleasure getting to view it, (patiently waits for a-dev to roll the dice :wink1:). Your figures from T1 really capture the mood and look of the movie P. and your mods and poses are excellent. I can't wait to get my non BD Tech Noir T-800 onto a TTM-20 in the near future so that I can get better poses from him, I think a-dev already made this move?

On a side note P. I noticed that you have the 1990 TMNT Playmates toys and I myself have the cartoon version as the movie ones didn't look very good but what is your take on them buddy?

Opted to stick with the movie presentation of the arm and eye-surgery scenes myself as you know but those are really cool-looking.

Yeah it's more of a friendly 'competition' with me and P. on the Terminator collection front. Passing ideas back and forth for the mutual enhancement of what we've got. There might be a bit of secret ''Hahaaa! You've got that but I've got this'' sort of thing but it balances out.

His Robocop collection definitely beats mine without question though.

I did, although I can't remember if if fully switched him onto that body or just swapped the arms, I think the latter. For T1 I prefer the bulkier chest provided by the original MMS136 body - but obviously the DX10 arms enable better gun-toting poses.

thanks! i just invented a way to get rid of that "crowded" feeling, gave a T1 shelf a little shelf within a shelf, so now all figures are seen. will show the idea later.

i have both sets of those new playmates turtles. i love the movie ones, but that other set is so ridiculous that i don't even put it on a shelf yet. their heads don't match anything i've seen - it's not comics, cartoon or anything. their backs look like round smooth can lids instead of oval wrinkled turtle shells, and they do what i hate since old playmates turtles - they don't even reach the shoulder level, leaving an impression of stuff pushed out of a tube. their front shells are divided (the joint) too unnaturally. so i'd say the "cartoon" set is like 2 times worse than the "movie" set.

That's one impressive Terminator collection, P. Just find some very colourful shorts for that T2 Arnold, lol.

I see you don't care at all for the MMS T2 sculpt either.
:D yeah i wanted colourful ones but didn't find any :) it's a gag for T2 fans. but if those new phicen bodies fit the size and color of terminator head, i'll have to replace the body and lose those shorts hehe.

not that i don't care for MMS 117 headsculpt, it just doesn't fit he DX13, so...

i guess you have more Sarah figures than i have T-1000s :)

We tend to forget about Sarah, more often it's all about the Arnie collections.

But yeah I've got 7 of her set up - funny the way one of her figures was released as a T-1000 in ''sarah connor'' disguise.

I didn't buy 7 complete figures, some of those were parts purchases. Also one of them isn't a finished article (Chet's autoparts denim jacket) because I've never been able to get another pair of Pescadero pyjama bottoms. That one is just wearing her combat pants and is therefore inaccurate so I tend to keep her hidden away behind other figures.

I'm still "winning" on Reeses though :lecture:rotfl

Every time I look at P. and a-dev's collections I get an erection...:monkey3

but that's what i meant - you even have more least popular figures (Sarah) than i have second popular (T-1000), so there's no way to compete in numbers of the main character with you :)

how come? what fourth figure did you make of him?

Tech Noir (My original figure complete with Xenoviper's modded HS)
Police integration (DCung figure stripped down with hand cuffs sitting at DX Joker 2.0 table)
Final Battle (Blue coat, bandaged hand, bleeding head armed with a pipe and pipe bombs and lighter)
Future war 2029 (HT stock)

*Edit Just noticed 5 year freak anniversary!!!!

so you made interrogation Reese as well, congrats :)
i decided that one table on a shelf is enough, as it would be too costy to get that Jocker set, another Reese, muscular body and so on. might return to that idea if HT ever makes him (though we all understand they never will).

MMS01 must have been a piss poor seller, otherwise I'd like to think they'd at least make a new Kyle Reese as a tribute to the fact that he was the first ever MMS.

I sadly believe this as well. After the lacklustre MMS-238 I think HT just rushed it through to get back to Iron Man (and now Star Wars). We know they were capable after the DX-13 so I really believe that it was rushed without much care or concern. Even if they made Reese I would have concerns over how good it would be.

I wonder if they had also made a 84 version with a proper Arnold Terminator (instead of hamburger face) people who have bought it. I mean they made a crappy HS Reese in 2029 uniform to pair up with a weird hybrid T-800 not based the source materiel. What a dumb combo. I can see people skipping and waiting for proper versions. Also I believe at the time HT was not purchasing the actors likeness rights might have had something to do with it as well.

I can't imagine it was that successful. Then again, the quality has improved so much over the years I don't think it would really be a fair comparison.

Pretty straight forward bash. I have wanted to do for some time.

hmmm.

i think that without Arnold's physique and body's ability to take the embryo pose the idea doesn't play well enough.
that looks closer to ancient Olympic games.

i personally am gonna try this, once it's released. but just "try", because for now it seems to have wrong proportions as well:
