I think your first thought is correct. This figure definitely has a smaller production run than your average superhero character. It has a smaller fanbase but will probably stay in the collections of the people who care to buy it. And there will never be a 2.0/DX/remake figure. So while the For Sale section is littered with Iron Mans and DX Batmans I doubt you will see many of these in there. As time goes by, more people will come to appreciate this film. Seems like with superhero-type movies people abandon their collection to fund the next big thing that comes along. This is a fantastic piece if you are a Sondheim or Burton fan, or just love this movie. If you are a Depp fan this is a major release in what looks to be an extensive series based on his work. I think you will see this piece skyrocket once HT rolls out the rest of their "Depp Collection."

Thats what im thinking. Those fad of the moment figures such as Sucker Punch, most of the superhero figures, etc are kind of overshadowing the figure so the people getting this figure are obviously people who really appreciate the source material considering what they are missing out on to get it. Also, you could argue Sweeney is one of the lesser known or popular characters by Depp compared to Scissorhands, Mad Hatter, Willy Wonka, Ichabod (eh, maybe not), and of course Jack Sparrow, so maybe people havent grown to appreciate Todd yet. But like you said, more people probably will eventually and the prices on him might shoot up.

:goodpost: There's a lot of truth to this statement. The 1 draw back is that the character may never be revisited again like you mentioned, which means it can never be improved. Edward Scissorhands comes to mind as a figure that if it were redone today, would blow the old one away.

take some pictures;-) I have to wait for mine:-/

Sorry, I'm awefully bad at taking pics :monkey3 I may try to take some, but don't promise anything :D

First impressions...the box is HUGE!, he needs some serious futzing IMO, and he looks impressively awesome in person!!! A 10/10 figure! :clap:clap You will NOT regret buying

Ugh, I can't wait to finally have this figure... it's my first HT figure.

Then continues the waiting for Jack Sparrow figure, haha.

Dosen't really look like Johnny Depp.

I think this a better likeness than the new Jack Sparrow sculpt & I think that is awesome. It's funny how us collectors don't always see the same things but I can't wait to get this. I'm a big Depp fan & I'm so happy that I'm going to get this in my collection :)

Dosen't really look like Johnny Depp.

He DOES look like Johnny Depp. :lecture

And what's more, the most amazing aspect about the sculpt is that depending on the angle you pose him in, you can actually see different expressions! Really amazing

This is the first figure I am buying two of for the purpose of having two. Brilliant figure. Can't wait for these to hit state's side.

I know nothing about this movie but this figure seems like alot of fun. Would like to see pics with a predator!

My brother was telling me that this was the most impressive HT piece at SDCC. I really can't wait to get this figure. Was it said if the blades were real metal or not?

This figure is just simply awesome and I think it's value will certainly increase over time. However, I just wish the movie was good. I loved the look but hated the movie. The actual musical is great but the movie just failed.
