Know what? I ordered this guy from Forbidden Planet in January, promised delivery by 15th Feb and I'm still waiting. And I've chased them for it twice!

Not what I expect from FP I must say...

So now that everybody sort of has it, if anybody wouldn't mind answering these questions

1. What is the actual shade of blue the figure has? It looks light, almost a powdery blue in some pics, but in others it looks very neutral, closer to the prototype and movie. Obviously different lighting must be taken into consideration, but does anybody have any pictures where they can feel comfortable saying this is almost exactly what the color looks like in hand? I can't figure out if it looks like this

2. Would changing the body to a TT Advanced really help? With the articulation so restricted, i'm considering doing this but I could only find one or two people who did it but they only posted one or two pics and thats all the info I could find. I do think he looks slightly too bulky as well and a smaller body could help in that regard. So for anybody who did it, is it worth doing or not?

3. Sort of similiar to the first question but are the colors and paint really that bad? Again, could be because of lighting, but most of the pictures make the figure look very manufactured. I understand it's a toy technically, but at the same time you have to remember it is a high end collectible as well, and to me it seems to lean more towards the toy side rather than high end collectible in terms of looks.

It's really hard to figure out what the general consensus on this figure is. One person will say call it a masterpiece, and then the next post will say it is a huge disappointment. I almost never nit pick over these figures and the small details don't usually bother me, but all these issues added up make it really hard for me to hit the purchase button :dunno

Dude, this figure is a piece of art. Really, one of the best from Hot Toys, and for me, figure of the year.

The colors of the outfit are just the same as the movie. Tha paint is perfect and the shield is a perfect piece of art just from themselve.

Change the body for a TT Narrow will help with articulation, but only if you make a little mod in the shoulder pads. They are glued in the outfit, and its necessary to unglue to do the trick. In fact, if you just unglue the shoulds pads in the figure itself, it will be able to raise the arms way higher than the usual.

Don´t believe anyone that tells you this figure is something less than marvelous, just trust me and push the purchase button.

You won´t regret.

Regards,

Parker

1. the colors are more of this shade

https://www.mwctoys.com/images/review_htcapam_7.jpg

2. Haven't tried myself

3. I didn't find the paints bad at all on the figure, the only thing that I had issues with was the alignment on the "A" in the helmet and the Star on the chest.

I would be carefull with the ammo pouches. I was a little to rough with the them, and one of the straps ripped. Nothing major since I glued it back together, but I thought I would give you a heads up. I hope that info helps

So I switched the body out on Cap to the TT advance and for some reason the belt is way too big has this happened to anyone else?

I dunno why this Cap doesn't get more love? I honestly wish I could say that i love the way Cap looks in the Avengers, and he does look better on screen than in early pics, but this WWII Cap just looks so badass the way Cap should look. Avengers Cap just looks a little toooo sleek. Would love to pull the trigger on that HT figure, but the outfit and the increased price just have me saying "pass". Will be getting the "rescue" version of Cap, though (yet another badass looking design!), and maybe the USO version, if it looks decent (would be nice to have a HT "comic book" style Captain America!)

I thought USO and Rescue Cap were going to be the same figure?

Another board member had one for sale at a great price so I couldn't resist. I guess if I don't like it I could always sell it since he only seems to be going up in value and just sold out practically everywhere.

Thanks for the quick feedback peterparkernypd and CTO15, very helpful and I greatly appreciate it. Made purchasing the figure much easier :hi5:

This is robbiethepainter's Cap which I believe is on a TT advanced but I may be mistaken. The belt seems to be ok on it.

Dylan, do you mind posting some pictures of your Cap on the new TT advanced in a couple of different poses? I'm debating whether or not I should do it as well and i'm wondering how you like the new advanced as apposed to the original body HT used for Captain America.

There's a Chris Evans head on EBay, is it me or does it look a lot like the head a few dozen pages back that someone posted from a guy in China, where he took the helmet off the Hot Toys Cap head and then filled in the missing parts (ears, chin, and hair)?

AS much as I would love to do that for you bud my Camera and my computer are not talking right now. I might have a few in my photobucket currently will check that for you.

But the body switch out is really a preference thing. It offers slightly more movement at the cost of the suit not quite fitting as well it still fits fine and looks great but it not quite perfect. My main reason for the switch is because I didnt see the point in having so much detail like the arms are go to waste being covered by the suit.

I would still love to see a Superman body on this figure and how that would work out.

No problem. I guess i'll see if I can get a TT advanced and test it out at some point. If anybody else has any opinions or pictures of the figure on a TT advanced feel free to share :1-1:

Hi guys, I'm new here. I just got my First Avenger Captain America yesterday, my first 1/6 scale purchase, and the zipper came. I tried to get it back on and broke it in half. Are there faulty zippers on this piece, or do I just have to look on ebay for a replacement jacket? That aside, I love the figure and he has good placement of the star on his chest, and the A on his helmet. I got my figure from BBTS so I'm not sure what there policy is compared to Sideshow.. I plan to get my figures from Sideshow in the future though, and have five figures on preorder already.
