That's what I was wondering. So only BD came with both? Original only came with closed? Are they permanently attached to the headsculpt or do they come out?

I'm still debating if I want to wait for this figure or to buy an original P2 for my collection instead. I gotta tell you I'm leaning towards the original.

Oh dangit I hit the quote button instead of edit. Oh well I'm a double poster

From the 1:1 prop replica stand point he did. The paint was terrible, the visor was a joke and the casting was all wonky!

Yep, that or Celtic. I always buy with the thought that I will have it repainted someday.
Even if it for repainted, the symmetry is all off. If you look at it straight on and compair the" waves" and dots in the design from the left side to the right its like one side has been heated up and its warped out of shape.

be best off getting a custom 1:1 mask and building that up rather than trying to fix sideshows

Well the 1:1 scale yes but not the 1:4 scale he didn't

BD version has mandibles the way they do now, 2 open, 2 closed, interchangeable. The first non-BD P2 has fixed closed madibles, unremovable.

they were not unremovable. just glued. sockets are similar to BD closed and opened variants. i took them out and used the non-BD head with interchangeable mouths.

can be seen on this really old photo i found.

Well, they glued it like any other part not intended to be removed, since some parts are made of more than one piece, I don't think they were actually thinking about interchangeable mandibles at that time. Anyway, it's good to know because I actually thought the mandibles on that one weren't even glued pieces, I thought they were a single piece with the head. I don't own neither the original P2 nor the BD P2, so I just know what I've seen about them before.
