I'm with you. I think there is a lot to enjoy in both films. Some people just take these movies to seriously and then over analyze them. It's been my experience that any movie with vs.'s in the title shouldn't be taken very seriously. But hey we're all entitled to our own opinions.

I think AVP 1 was very enjoyable movie and well acted for what it was worth . AVP R was a terrible acted film PERIOD and filmed way to dark to enjoy or appreciate the creatures in the film . Some believe it was done purposely to cover up the budget limits if the film . It's a shame of course because the WOLF predator is absolute fantastic and should of had better screen time to be noticed more .

I think the acting in both movies was about equal, a lot of cheesiness in both movies(in different ways) you probly just like the characters better in the first one. I love avpr because of wolf, so more screen time for him would have been awesome, that being said i think he might have had more screen time then any other pred in any movie(i might be wrong here) but there were the coolest scenes in that movie of wolf using tech gear and pred agility skills, and they are very watchable if you watch the blu ray with the lights out you can see everything going on, gotta hand it to avpr for giving us imo the only super predator to ever exist in a movie(wolf)

Some may find the movies to be enjoyable, thats fine. i hate the movies with a passion. I may fall under the category of "taking them too seriously"...well, that's a bit unfair to say that. The first pred movie was so amazing, and it's timeless, classic. You can put that movie on and anyone from any generation can see quality on the screen.

What the "taking it too seriously" fans...all we want is a movie that's either a follow up or crossover that has at least 80% of what the original had. I found that in predators. It was almost there, all I wanted to see more of were the preds. They were super preds and I wanted to see why. But the spirit of the original movie was there.

As for the crossover movies, IMO, they were generally just awful movies. I want one that has great action. Great characters. Great script. I want someone that understands what makes these movies so timeless to make either a predator sequel, or crossover that will make the fanboys within ourselves jump up in all geek celebration.

Like how whedon understands the appeal of the avengers, how Nolan understands batman...just get someone that "gets" it. Treat it with respect and don't do things for shock value or for the sake of just doing it.

well there is really no difference in the two versions. besides more cussing and more blood splatter. Also if you end up liking it. you will have started at a rather decent time because the new figures are being "announced," and you won't end up paying buko bucks for someting that might let you down. if you end up watching it I can almost guarentee the love story won't be the thing that makes you love it.
