Re: Hot Toys MMS243 - 1/6th scale Captain America & Steve Rogers

For a month now I have seen collectors receive and mod their Strike Suit Cap. I have seen 2-3 different mods. In your opinion, not counting the Christopher Reeves body swap, which one should I try to get better articulation?

Keep in mind that I have never done a mod on my figures. I just can't see myself leaving it as is when it arrives.

Should cutting the whole fat suit be my first option?

What are the options exaclty? (I understand you can combine some of them)

1- New Body
2- Removing the fat suit
3- Cutting the rubber suit

I will receive that fig next thursday. I think the first thing I will do is cut the rubber suit since it looks it's the one preventing the articulation the most.

So, I should remove either the fat or rubber suit and the articulation should get slightly better? I need to look back a few pages and see how it was done.

Thanks for the advise.

I was really happy I was able to get Widow in that pose with the help of some Blu Tack... that is the great thing about Hot Toys female figs.. Catwoman is by far the most flexible... and they are light enough that BluTack is able to hold them up in poses that are impossible for the heavier male figs. If I wasn't so lazy, probably should have photoshopped out the blue under her feet.

Since I just started collecting this year... I'm going to stick with figures from Phase 2 of the Cinematic universe.. so that means no Hulk/Hawkeye for now :)

I might be in the minority but I think modding worked out great for me. I love the extra bit of articulation in the arms because I like the fact that I can finally raise the shield

That's the best mod I've seen yet. What did you do exactly to give it more articulation? I don't want to cut the rubber suit underneath.

I hate how Shield Strike Cap looks like Hanz n' Franz out of the box.

Great pic!! My Cap also has that mark next to the A, I think its supposed to be there. If you look at the cardboard insert in the box the mark on the helmet can be seen on the picture of figure.

Great pics. I'm noticing though that your cap has a rub next to the A on his helmet. Mine has the same exact mark in the same exact spot. Is everyone's like this?

Mine is the same as well. Also, if you look at the product packaging, it's on there as well.
