no not really. You were saying anyone who buys the new cap figures most likely have the previous ones already which would be false because it's entirely possible there are new fans who buy into them without having any of the previous ones

I corrected you by saying anyone who already have the previous cap figures will buy these new ones which would be true because they are diehard fans and there's higher probability that they will continue to collect in the same line. I hope that was clear enough for you to follow :lecture

I never ruled out people buying Cap figures for the first time. It stands to reason that there might be consumers entering the market right now that have only just realised these are out there. If you re-read my post i never said that wasn't the case.
My statement was that anyone who buys all the new ones likely have all the older ones, and would already own the other shields.

My post said people buying these would likely already have the old ones.

You have corrected me by stating most people with the old ones will buy the new.

It would appear your grasp on the English language is to turn a statement on it's head and expect it to have a different meaning.
You have tried to make an argument out of simply stating the same thing as me.

The two statements sound similar but are indeed different. Your post was that, among those buying the new 2-pack, most have the old figures. Samaraimasta's original post was that, among those who bought the old figures, most will buy the new 2-pack. Sort of an "A implies B" vs. "B implies A" deal.

Both suggest that there's a good amount of overlap in the buying audience, but they are indeed (technically) different statements. That said, I do think both are true in this case (though one more so than the other other). :lecture

The Cap 2 pack are my first Marvel figures. I am a huge fan of the movies and comics, but never bought the previous figure releases because of a lack of funds. I would like to have a BD red/white/blue shield to come with the civilian rogers, but its not a deal breaker for me.

LOL my grasp on English is fine. Your grasp on basic probability seems lacking though. I don't know why you're having such hard time with this, and I want to take you through it, but honestly we should agree to disagree and do something more productive with our day :wave

They should just toss in an extra shield that comes with the GA Cap. Then everyone would be happy and have nothing to complain about.

:exactly: :goodpost:

I don't see the problem with the shields. One looks like when he landed on the ship, the other looks like when he was done and it had all the "cold colors" style paint chipping off.

The figs look great, gonna be a kick ass on the shelf, really really glad I never went for the Avengers version. These figs were well worth the wait.

The shield has it's normal coloring for most of the movie and they didn't include it in the set, that's the problem. Plus the strike costume just looks better with the normal shield. And he uses both versions of the shield when he's in the strike costume. Not to mention the new shields are diecast.

Thank God the Golden Age comes with a red white/metal and blue shield then.

i hope the wrist joints can handle the diecast, unlike Thor and his hammer.

Shouldn't be a problem since the figure will be using the lower half of the arm to support the shield, whereas Thor can only hold the hammer in his hand.

True, if anything a snug shield may help the hand stay on. :lol

The Thor problem was my concern with these new shields, seeing it put this way, I think that makes a very good point that Cap holding it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Only problem is if the shoulder joints on the new figs are strong enough. Thats my only worry at this point

Steve Rogers only uses his shield with this civilian outfit on the rooftop chase scene, which is mostly running, not shield bashing.

I'd rather they include that absurdly large S.H.I.E.L.D. thumb drive on an alternate hand sculpt for the civilian Rogers outfit.

How is that a solution? You'd still be missing a red, white and blue shield for one of the figures.

How so? The Golden Age comes with one. If you mean you want the stealth guy two pack to have one, the civilian cap with a damn extra shield, which would looks great on its own, but you get all that extra crap for 120 bucks for genuine Hot toys stuff. paint it up or stop being a cheap ass and have someone paint it up. the shields are obviously supposed to "represent" the early opart of the movie. The nice stealth shield when he jumped from the plain, the beat up version how it looked by the time they were wrapping up the action on the ship.

Its an extra 120 bucks, that second shield is a gift from Ht, they may as well just sent the damn thing primered or not even included another shield. The sets would have still sold with just the base stealth shield. Everyones entitled to their own point of view, but this 2 packs a favor, people are getting a good enough deal they should be able to get their shield customized or just appreciate what they are getting rather than what they aren't. Rose Hill Starks are selling at 300 bucks, I'm pretty sure civvy Cap could have been pumped up a bit more if they wanted.

Civilian Steve only appeared in the movie with the red colored shield.
Golden Age Cap only appeared in the movie with the red colored shield.
HT is only including one red colored shield between the two of them.

That's the issue. A missing shield for "scene accurate" displays. Not a deal breaker. Not worth losing sleep over. But it'd be nice if each figure could be displayed with the shield he actually used when dressed that way.

IMO these shields are much better than having 2 of the exact same shield or civie steve not coming with one.
