I'm a convert.Clonobi has replaced Luke Skywalker as the face of Star Wars.
I lost my "faith" in Luke in the sequel trilogy, and I had my fears for how they would handle Kenobi. We know how Kenobi's story ends, and I feared they'd just trample all over it with his own series. The show had its ups and downs, but it NAILED it so hard where it mattered and the Clone Wars and Rebels built that legacy up so much that I can't help but view Kenobi as THE definitive Jedi of the era now.
When I think of "Jedi Knight", I think of Obi-Wan. The perfect fusion of a romantic ideal of honor and chivalry, in space. A tragedy that was handled so much more gracefully than Luke's swerve because we spent the time with him to see his friendships build, falter, and his idealism fall apart but ultimately be renewed. Having such great actors and writing helped (Ewan really did take the role and run with it).
In a Star Wars era where we see our "heroes" failing and disappointing us (from Luke to Leia to even Boba Fett), Obi-Wan is almost the only OG character who is BETTER now than he was in the original trilogy.
Mandalorian and Grogu may be carrying the franchise on their backs, and Andor may be the smartest Star Wars show in recent memory, but Obi-Wan is the beating heart that old fans still can turn to and not be disappointed by.
