So, I finally got the new Holy Grail of my collection, the Hot Toys Power Loader! I assembled it, and am absolutly thrilled with it, but I did not attach the hoses yet, as I heard they had a tendancy to break. Any advice on how to help keep them in one piece? Should I just leave them unattached, or will they be ok as long as the Power Loader is stationary? Any advice on this would be awesome, I want to do whatever I can to make it look cool, and not break pieces:) Thanks guys!

I think these just break regardless of how much you handle it to be honest. Mine is stationary most of the time and every time I go back to look at it it seems theres another hose broken loose.

I don't particularly care but if a shoulder joint snapped or something it'd be a different story.

Same on mine. I set it up on day 1 as a 'display piece', never touched it, and whenever I dust around the figure, I see another hose has pulled the off the little plastic piece you push it into. Too much 'pull' from the hoses I guess...even when it's not being posed in all different sorts of ways. Guess crazy glue or something might have to be used to hold them on. :angelsmil

I couldn't even fix mine with glue. I dunno, maybe I just wasn't patient enough to sit there holding it in place for as long as I would need to.

Definatly my favorite figure ever. If only there was a way to take it with me to the Afterlife, lol.

Mines been on display since day one, I'm gonna have to check tonight, but last time I looked it was all A-OK.

I have had a few break on mine to and I never handle it. Super glue has worked so far.

Just checked, all is fine. One had become unplugged so I pushed it back on... phew!

Dusted the collection yesterday and noticed that 2 of the hoses where lose. Went to put the back in place and then horror, 2 broken pegs, wonder when that happened?. Was going to sell it aswell.

I'm moving in a couple of weeks and will finally get to assemble and display mine. I'm wondering if I should just shave off all the plastic pegs and glue metal ones in? :lol

I've had my Power Loader on display for over two years now in Southern California, and nothing has broken yet. It even survived my move without being disassembled. The metal pin option is the one I'd do if (when) I need to.

My ED 209's dome on the other hand is terrible.

Been reading your situation with ED SS, and it had me concerned since I'm in your vicinity (W. Covina). Luckily, no deterioration (yet). Powerloader hasn't been displayed, so I don't know the condition. Hopefully it's okay since I haven't looked at it since I got it.

Mine may be an extreme case - I think I last counted 6 hoses that had come loose, and a seventh that had broken off entirely.

I've also seen the beginnings of deterioration on the edges of Ed-209's dome. Guess one day I'll just have to strip it off and paint it black or something.

Hi guys,

Just a quick question...

I have limited display space but finally want to get this bad boy out for display, eventually replacing it with something else from the attic ;)

Do you know if it's possible/adviseable to disassemble and re-box this thing once assembled?

Thanks!
CH

Dunno but I wouldn't risk it, it'd be a whole load of hassle too. Just find a box big enough to fit it complete. Use a lot of bubble wrap to keep it stable inside the box. Thats how I've got mine at the moment. All I've done is take off the two antennae at the top.

Thanks a-dev. Saw in another thread that someone else had been able to disassemble & re-pack it, but I guess one more brown box won't hurt ;)

Do you think I can fit a standard male figure in the PL? I'm thinking of putting a body in some spare BDUs and a cap then putting him in the Caterkiller :)
