Four actually. I know that HT will not be able to resist a P1 BD version

i dont know man, he doesnt really get battle damaged til that log lands on his head... and by that hes dead anyway
unless you count that scrape on the knee he got from Mac going apesh1t with Old Painless.
so, maybe HT will make 2 different battle damaged versions!
wouldn't put it past them.

Very, very exciting news. I've been checking this thread several times a day anticipating more images. :D

Hopefully this is the first Predator figure that isn't so skinny. Browsing through the post your preds thread, it becomes quickly evident that all of the Hot Toys Predator figures are grossly underweight; it's most apparent when they are standing upright.

It all depends on what he initially comes with. If the Med-Kit doesn't open, that's a sure sign a second version will be coming. The regular BD version of the P2 only had a few differences: Severed arm, green paint splatters, Open Mandibles, Opening Med-Kit and the Oxygen mask. The Ex. had the battle damaged Bio which was designed by HT and never part of the movie. So a BD P1 could be like that, added things by HT that were never part of the movie and strictly added to allow them to milk the figure for all it's worth.

Interesting that you say that, because I felt some of the earlier Preds, at least P2 and P2 Lost, were too bulky looking, at least in body width.

I'm hoping, knowing it's THE Predator of all Predators, that Hot Toys would be open to a body tailored to make the P1 look it's best rather than just reuse the P2 body or something.

Same. The P2/Elder is a little too big in the chest and especially in the arms. Somewhat in the legs too. And Wolf was too skinny in the entire lower body. If I had the means etc. to modify an entire pred I'd mix the 2: An entire Wolf upper body + hips with the P2 legs with slightly thinner calves.

Well, when AVPR hit DVD, I compared the Wolf figure to the movie, and the biggest points where the figure looks too skinny are simply because it's a figure. One example is the torso up by the arms, much bulkier on screen but it's a body suit where the arms run into the body, where the Hot Toys figure has flexible joints so there's gaps and it takes away mass. Sometimes it's just poor figure design, sometimes it's leaving some movie accurracy behind to make a more versatile figure, which is fine, I want that, I get statues for the pure visuals.

Agreed, I really hope that's the case!

Nah, their stomachs are way too tapered in on the sides, and legs too long (or too skinny). The armor on the Predator 2's left arm is also too large, which also makes the rest of him look even skinnier. I tried doing a comparison pic, but the legs seem less skinny here because I had them angled backward instead of straight. He definitely needs to be huskier in the midsection though.

Thought these were due for a repost. :)

I might be off on this, but it looks like they are using a new muscle body. Looks like the Head, Neck are completely 1 piece attached seemless with the body. The other muslce bodies you can tell the head sculpt is seperate but I do not see any line "cut" piece where the top of the neck and the bottom of the head meets. Anyone see the same thing??

From what i've heard just the arms are made of rubber, so the rest is your basic 1/6 body. This is what i've heard though, I could be wrong.

Damn... Kyle (Tankman) keeps telling me just how off the HT pred bodies are, but until that side-by-side I hadn't really understood!
Damn!

Well, I'm not that big of a pred fan, but that does put things into perspective.
Still kick ass figures, though not very accurate.

I think your right about the Arms, but if I remember the first leaked pics of Dutch and Billy, I could of swore that they had a shot of him without the shirt and it looked to be using the muscle body with the muscle arms "seperated" if that made sense. But the pics above of the head and neck is bothering.....just seems to be something new.... Guess have to wait next week for more pics.

I think P2 is the only figure where that flaw really shows, probably because it is flaw enhanced by the chest - side armor which shows how skinny the pred is in the mid section.

You don't really notice on the P2 Elder or the AvP Preds (I never have at least, but I noticed it right away the first time I saw the P2 promo pics).

I also don't understand why people keep saying Wolf's legs are too skinny, they look and feel spot on and are in harmony with the rest of the body. Though I have noticed what MaulFan's said about Wolf's back not being big enough (there should be muscle where the arm - shoulder - back meet and it just isn't there in the figure for poseability issues I assume).

Still damn happy with all of them, but yeah, they're not perfect.

Yeah even though its what i've heard the pics above appear to be confusing for that to make sense. Just going to have to wait!

There's numerous things wrong with every pred released so far. The biggest imo is the head size. Look at Wolf, take off his bio. His head is perfectly sized and proportioned to his body. And that's wrong. Preds have huge noggins because of all the animatronic crap within them. Yet Wolf has a really small, normal sized head. P2 is the opposite, with the Bio on it looks ok but take it off and now suddenly his head is WAYYYYYY too small. Makes the body look even bigger. You can see in these pics how HUGE Pred heads are suppose to be:

Also, Wolf was not "slimmer" than the Predators in the first and second films. I'm not sure where people are getting that idea from.

Wolf has a way oversized head, with an oversized over bite mouth, and a super skinny, lanky body. The mask is the best thing about the whole design.
