Hot Toys Predator: Jungle Hunter 2.0

I am guessing he's still in development. With the new Artisan figures I feel as though HT will want to innovate more on the Predators and create some cool new features so they used this to gauge interest and we'll get an announcement next year or possibly this year, new body, new materials, headsculpt etc

I think you're being way too optimistic. The fact that they include the cracked mask from the Classic release as an accessory here is just lame. The sculpt is the same exact one from Predators. This and the "2.0" BD T-800 feels like they are going to be license retainer releases similar to that Robocop 3

I noticed with hot toys and neca...they seem want to limit actors license rights...so often I find they release a creature/monster and re-release them, but often not the heroes...because of likeness rights and costs.

They are corporations after all. I know people want another dutch, I want commando, but I don't think Hot toys will do it...

I think 3rd parties are the only option until we see Hot toys do re-releases of say Ripley, Dutch, John Matrix, Stallone, Neo and so on...

Yeah, like who wanted RoboCop 3. We wanted more Alex Murphy's...I mean the original actor...

Neca did a great job with the bloody Alex Murphy...come on hot toys do it....but Hot toys is gonna hot toys.

I got me Classic Pred from Predators line cheap last year...$200 on evil bay.

This would be $300 plus figures by hot toys if re-releases imo. So....

Looks like modded Classic Pred with new accessories thrown in. This one is almost like mine minus that overblown base and lighter color for I hate larger base and did small repaint.
Maybe HT will give us new headsculpt and that'll be it. Bam! JH 2.0! Or worse, they can just reuse headsculpt on 1.0 with longer dreads...

Yeah - the more I look at todays "announcements" the more pissed off I am.
The only reason I dont tell HT to go **** themselves this time is because my Wolf Predator has a snapped arm [due to the stupid *** design of these joints] and I will need a Predator figure sooner or later.

Excited as I already was to have the Prey figure, he would've felt incomplete on display without an OG. If they just did a remake of Berserker too so I could have my 3 favorite Predators as HT, I could probably quit collecting. Wouldn't, but could.

Yeah it looks really good, but i only have one spot on my shelf to represent Predator and for me Jungle Hunter is the definitive look for him. Maybe one day i might pick up Feral Predator, who knows.

Ah ok then that makes sense. I loved the Prey movie and for me the perfect franchise would be just Predator and Prey, but the Jungle Hunter is the original and best representation. I completely agree with you

I'm surprised it took them this long. I'm plenty happy with my modified Classic Predator, but this is one of the most important and iconic geek characters so would be hard to pass on.

While I have the original release of this (my first every HT) I am confused as to did they just kit bash this out of bits of the original and classic or will we see some improvement before it goes up for PO.

I just want them to fix the lenses on the mask. They never get the right still willing to buy though. Just hope they tweak it some more before the PO comes out

This was supposed to be the year of re-releases, but nothing really so far released, just shown.

I am just tempering my expectations as hot toys has this habit of just showing.

Went from extremely excited to very disappointed pretty quickly upon realizing this is a repaint of Classic Predator from 14 years ago. The new diorama base is awesome, but this character deserves a total do-over with a hidden-joint soft seamless body like they used on Carnage (where they proved they can do detailed paintwork on soft material). The fact that they're using the same biomasks tells me they're probably going to phone it in and re-use the totally inaccurate (for Jungle Hunter) Classic head as well - since the helmets wouldn't fit otherwise.

Hopefully this is just a stand-in figure and the final product will be less re-use, but I'm not holding my breath. If there's a Dutch 2.0 to follow though he'd have to be all new.

A rerelease of an old figure on a new base does not inspire me to buy back into Predator at 1/6. As with the T-800, I hope this is nothing more than a placeholder for a proper do-over.

Hoping this is a placeholder, but as low effort as it is, I'm still pleasantly surprised to see it.

Liking the new curved trophy spine. Base is fun, looks like they took some inspiration from Prime 1 and loaded it with Easter eggs.

That helmet needs a complete overhaul. The bar for accuracy on Predators (and Aliens) has been raised substantially over the last few years.

Visible joints are fine with me, the Jungle Hunter has enough tassels and ties to cover up everything
