What's these worth to even counterfeit it? The box is quite noticeable.
The fakes have been selling consistently for over $200 on eBay, so I guess it was worth it. As for the box, it is only noticeable when you have the real deal to compare it to. If you were to take a pic of just that box by itself, lighting could affect how it looks and a potential buyer would have a very difficult time figuring out which one it was. Mascera wearing Wolvie head seems the most obvious difference there, but if you got a re-paint of the fake head you might still be able to deceive.

Most of these douche bag sellers are not using actual pics of what they sell, they are still tricking these people as you can see on the bids.

Buyers just need to be aware if these sellers don't post actual pic of what they're selling then just avoid them. How easy would it be to just freaking create a fake account and so i can just **** with them.

eBay needs the rule I've seen and loved heaps: Pics of product with name handwritten on paper. It might help.

I'm glad that Hot Toys is acknowledging the problem and warning people about it. Now hopefully they can bust whoever is doing it.

Hot Toys hit squad for hunting down sellers who scam and sell fakes? Do they pay in Hot Toys figures? Sign me up please :lol

Guys, any way to compare the genuine & fake bodies & clothes? Was offered a trade for a loose Wolverine for my IM MK3. Thought its quite a deal. Thks

To be honest, some of the fake Wolverines look pretty close to the original and they have flooded the American market. I am probably over reacting, but I wouldn't touch a Hot Toys Wolverine right now even if someone was offering it for $200.

Example: I tried to do all of my research four years ago with the Sideshow Ironman comiquette to make sure he was legit before buying and it turned out to be a fake; the only way I found out was because he had a round aluminum foot peg and neck pegs instead of copper neck pegs and a square foot peg; I even compared him with the local comic shop and the paint apps were darn near identical.

I would wait for Hot Toys to rerelease him or just do without. That is just my decision and I am sure a few board members will disagree with me.

Thankfully, I got mine way before this fake fiasco started. I would also be weary of buying one with all of these fakes being sold on the market.

Friggin China. Now my perfectly REAL HT Wolvie is devalued because of these fakes.

Most of the fakes are coming out of Vietnam from what I see. I hear you though; I was actively looking for a HT Wolverine when I saw tons start showing up on eBay and knew something was wrong.

i'd take a fake wolverine for a much lower price if it was labeled as such. as much as i want a real one i am not even going to bother since i dont feel like trying to distinguish the two. I hope a new one is released from The Wolverine.

I've got it!

The only reason Hot Toys bought the X-men:First Class license was to produce a 'Bar' Wolverine from that film with light up cigar.
