...and here's a quick one from me tonight...
Initial impressions...pretty on board with what's been said so far. Solid body, holds pose well, subtle but effective detailing. Looks really good. Really like the balance that was achieved with the finish...just enough shine along with the "wear" not overdone at all.
The long, lean torso doesn't look so extreme when the figure is in front of you. Some of the choices HT made with this one are...interesting. The permanently attached backpack, the fixed/tight belt. I gotta say...I'm not a big fan of the original HT Stormtrooper release. it just looks "slight" to me. This version s a step up as far as I'm concerned...a good, natural looking stance can be acheived here, unlike the other version.
A couple of minor nits....one of the belt flaps is missing...already contacted Sideshow. I do want the part so hopefully I can get it without sending the entire figure back. Also ..the box was creased. Not a deal breaker, but...a little irritating. The bonus back drop is okay...don't think I'll ever use it...it's a little too "playset" looking for display. On the stand...I prefer the "grate" that the ANH figures featured...it's cool to be able to snap the upright in anywhere onto the platform...opens up display options a lot. I hope HT re-visits that approach with the stands.
Well, now I'm tempted to try for more of these troopers...but I think I'm gonna stick to just one...got the DT Specialist, going for a Shore Trooper...that's a good enough representation of troopers from RO (unless that Tank Driver turns up...it'll be hard to resist picking that one up)
