What’s their rewards like compared to sideshow?

It is comparable but they provide a ton of additional points such as on your birthday, if you follow them on social media, etc. Most pre-orders include free shipping, so that right there is 20 bucks saved compared to Sideshow's absurd shipping rates.

I was ready to throw my remaining Sideshow reward points at a pair of Royal Guards but shipping alone was going to be close to 50 bucks!! I closed the window in disgust...

Probably because this looks to be the most awesomest Hot Toys Star Wars figure ever. If only it came with an angry scowl headsculpt...

We'll be finding out pretty soon. Hot Toys hasn't been disappointing with their headsculpts lately, so I think this will be fantastic in hand.

I'm glad the last cheetos figures bombed so this and Empire Strikes Back Vader are being released super early.

Yes it is, Sideshow's website says Aug-Sept 2018, and I got an email stating that my preorder will be arriving around that time two weeks ago. Doesn't get more official than that I think. It was originally a Spring 2019 release date.

Yeah I know that SS sent that email. But as long as it's not out in Hong Kong (see last page), I doubt that they would bring it out first world wide. We will see. But I wouldn't rely on it too much, or we could be disappointed

whenever its released in HK then you have another 4-6 weeks to wait for it to reach SS. So at this point, we're looking at early Sept at best for this to be in Sideshow's hands.

I keep thinking this has released with all the activity in this thread. This is one of the last real big grail pieces I want badly out of Star Wars.

Honestly if they do another Palpatine it should be Episode III version with pre-Emperor sculpt and maybe throw in the post Force lightning sculpt as a secondary option.

I would buy this in a heartbeat. Have him come with the robe he wore when he dubbed Anakin Darth Vader. I’d want two separate figures though. One for the Sidious sculpt and one for Palpatine though.
