I suspect most of what they're doing there is the fine detail work (eyes, lips, hair, etc). The base colors probably still get airbrushed on in batches to save time and keep all the heads looking uniform.

Yeah, I really can't imagine these HT heads are all fully hand painted. There's no way.

I have, on occasion bought several of the same head, parted out, from HT figures, and there is usually an appreciable difference between each headsculpt.
Other than the eyes, which are decals, everything else is all hand painted. I am pretty sure of that.

it's being formatted now and some revisions and additions being made, im still looking for a handful of collectors to finish interviewing and showcasing collections, that will just about tie up most ifnot the restof the ocntent needed. So anyone interested please send a PM, also deciding on whether I shoud self fund or start a campaign for funding and offer some great incentgives.. I just dont know ho wbig our community is to raise $30k for publisihing and distrobution etc... most of the travel and time and effort so far has been self funded but i must say has been well worth it, ive met so mant greta people and have learned so much, mainly the forever longing question of what are we teased with figs like commander cody, range trooper etc.. and they never see the light of day, i can imagine many will purchase just to read up on that section...lol

No i am doing tis for the love and passion fo collectiong, ive met some who have built museum quality setups and others who have a specific foucs while others have 12" figures going back almost 40yrs, I.E g.i joe's Mego etc.. but its amazoing to see the community at large and what it consists of, I hope that tis book can be a great companion piece to a lot of collectors collections, with everything from caring and cleaning to secondary market value and customizing etc.. im looking for mid to late 2019 again that depends on whether i self fund or do a campaign to raise funds.

Please keep us informed. I'd be all over that.

What, the eyes are decals? Thought they were painted. Well, might be a pain in the ass to produce them that way and result in the prices skyrocketing(like they haven't already:lol).

They will be computer designed for where they want the eyes looking. But those are exactly the same, even on multiple heads and that’s not possible with paint.
These heads being totally hand painted is why HT are the game changers in this hobby.

I guess someone did. I was thinking of doing a custom using SS Palps parts.

"Go that way...... to old man hands" (there's two rights and a left, plenty in stock.):lol

Maybe you wanted the open "lightning" hands?

Try reading his feedback before you get too excited. He's a scam artist.

I will not donate anything anyway. If he still writes that book then even better for us the collectors. If he's a scam artist, maybe mods should take care of him, or he can explain what happened. And I've seen idiots like Nash wandering round this board with big red negative reputation and now he is fine and dandy...

Uh!? ...62 posts in all, at 10% of those right here, from someone writing a book about the subject does seem quite suspicious. If that’s true it’s a shame.

"Scammer" NO... quick response to those who jump to conclusion, as a long time reader and recent member, when i first signed up around the time Anakin (hot toys) was being released, I used some rewards points to order 2 one to customize before i knew of the sith eyes version. and in addition I had ordered one off of timcent via ebay for review puroses. I then proceeded to sell on the two additional figures i had coming in from Sideshow and yes I was responsible and at fault but I was communicating with said member(s) directly via text, i provided both my personal phone # and email address, for the ocnveninece of reaching me and not awaiting a response to a PM that might go unseen for a day or two, in this time frame I was dealing with a "dealy" in shipping from Sideshow which i was able to easily send tracking on to the buyers that purchased from me for them to see for themsleves that I was infact awaiting a delayed pacakge.

in this time frame i decided to avoid any bad blood as a new meber i refunded one buyer and for some reason I was having an issue refunding the second buyer, it kept stating refund was "pending" it did take a couple weeks but i was finally able to reverse the funds and I do apologize fr the inconvenince but it in no way makes me a scammer, nor would i dare pass out my personal info if my intent was to scam, i am not really a seller of figures i do from time to time trade with my local comic shop but thats about it i very rarely reach out to mebers if at all, i think that was the one and only time.

Did i deserve the -negative feedback? yes, as i could have been more dilligent in handiling the situation but again as someone who very rarely sells especially using paypal I had to go through a whole back n forth with paypal having not used them for about 2 yrs since i started using (zelle and venmo) with updates and confirmations of updated info etc..

lastly for those curious or again jumping to conclusions, i read much more than i post and as a collector my focus is on star wars althou my passion and interests expand beyond star wars most of my collection is comprised of star wars 1/6, prop, sculpts and so on.. and my recent posts here were mainly in response to a question someone recently asked.

so lets be fair and play nice, i developed a good rapport with a handfull of members and have learned a great deal, unfortunatley I do not get to post as often as i'd like but hasty ness is not warranted. for those who feel differently thats your porogative but be fair before posting something as fact! and from here on i will most likely not be very active in many other threads other than star wars as that is my main interest and focus despite working on my passion project/book.

And I was not asking anyone for any money, i was stating i was not sure if i should self fund or offer incentives and do a funding campaign but no one is forced to give or is asked to give or contribute, you are welcome to urchase and enjoy the book which I hope you will on your own time ad own dime.

...I have no idea who or what you are. Would like to see a book in this subject though.
